A Revolution in Minecraft Multiplayer,
What is OakenCraft?
OakenCraft is the brain child of 2 very experienced server admins looking to bring something new to the Minecraft Multiplayer scene. The main idea of the server is to change the way resources are treated in minecraft. Bringing the need of factions, land control, and diplomacy to a whole new level.
The Idea:
OK, this is where it gets interesting. What makes our idea so different is how resources will be treated in minecraft. In normal or "vanilla" minecraft resources are abundant everywhere you go, making any survival on servers focused on the mining and fending off of other players more important than dealing with them on a diplomatic level. How will a change to this be achieved? By limiting resources spawn areas to specific regions of a pre-built map for the server. Such resources as Iron, Coal, Gold, etc. would only be available in the mountains, while sand only from along the coasts and rare "anti-oasis's" aka Spots in the land with sand instead of grass and trees.

The server will boast many plugins to encourage teamwork and faction development as well as diplomacy and warfare. (Whats a good server without death and destruction?) Some of the features planned are:

- A 100% custom built map featuring landmarks, mountain ranges, deep valleys, and sprawling forests (currently in development)
- small villages scattered throughout the world controlled by NPC's. They will boast guards, villagers, traders, and diplomatic options.
- 1 Main server controlled city with purchasable plots for shops or embassies.
- A completely player-driven economy, only resources in game will be ones spawned with the world, those which are mined are the ones sold, no admin shops, no item spawning(except on spawn)
- Dedicated staff, website, and forums for discussion, faction recruitment, announcements, etc.
- A dedicated TS (teamspeak server) for all to join and discuss.
- A large server with plenty of room and minimal lag.
