try going straight to the minecraft.net website and logging in with your email adress. them migrate your old account to override the hack. You will then log into minecraft using your email address but still have your character

the server will give you a specific version what are you seeing? Currently it is version 1.6.4 make sure you are using a 1.6.4 version. Should you find you cant connect to multiple servers you may need to delete your minecraft folder and start over - these can get quite full of crap and start slowing you down

i am looking into 1.6 but the server releases are not done at the same time as the client release. Its only since the release that we can all start getting ready for it.
