This is my rendition of a sterotypical French(And possibly Union) Zouave of the late 19th Century.
Zouaves in general are hard to accurately depict as they had a broad range of unique variations, take for example the 146th NY Zouaves during the American Civil War which wore light blue clothing. Furthermore you had the Brooklyn 14th Fire Zouaves who wore sack coats with red trimming instead of the standard vest, don't forget they ditched the fez in for a beautiful red kepi.

So here I've brought together a French Zouave with
Fez(Gold Rear Braid)
Red Epaulettes.
Standard Navy Blue chestware, including vest with red trim.
Blue Sash with buckle.
Red Trousers with Navy Blue Trim.
and Canvas Gaiters with Boots.
