It was a dark and thunder-stormy night... Steve was lost, desperately searching for his house... he was traversing through a dark forest and across hilly terrain... FLASH Lightning struck less than twenty blocks away from him... Steve tried to be brave and kept moving forward... as he ran past a big gnarly tree, he thought he saw something twinkle bright blue amongst the bushes up ahead... then Steve heard a strange hissing noise, and by the time he realized what it was coming from, it was too late...
KABOOM
... the charged creeper exploded, leaving a crater in the ground and blowing the nearest trees to bits.

Alex woke up in the morning expecting to see Steve in the house with her, but he was nowhere to be found. She knew he had gone out exploring the day before, and when he didn't come back before nightfall, Alex was worried, but she went to bed and just hoped he would come back in the night. He hadn't.
Over the course of the following week, Alex searched everywhere within 1,000 blocks of their house, but with no luck.
Steve was never seen again.

Steve's story eventually became legend. As it was passed on from person to person, the story was more and more altered, and people speculated about what really happened to Steve. Most people think that Steve was just killed by the charged creeper explosion, but some people believe a more outlandish theory: that Steve and the charged creeper somehow magically merged together, creating a humanoid charged creeper that still haunts the dark forest to this day.
