This is a cool asa (linen) kimono meant for hot summer weather and it is very casual. Asa kimono are often so light that they are even somewhat transparent, so they let any small current in the air cool you. (You would wear a non-transparent juban underneath.) The color combination I've used is called "natsumushiiro" (literally: color of summer insect as far as I can translate anything ^^;) and it is meant for summer (https://wafuku.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/japanese-colour-names-seasonal-combinations/). I've made this kimono for July. The pattern on the kimono features igeta (water well frame, looks like a haphazardly drawn box) and natsukusa (summer grasses) although I've made the pattern fairly faint without any vibrant colors.

The hanhaba obi is wrapped in futasuji daiko musubi, effectively a taiko musubi made with the narrower hanhaba obi (15 cm) as opposed to nagoya or fukuro obi (30 cm). Futasuji daiko musubi allows one to flip the obi at the back so that both sides of it show. This is very nice to do when the sides have different, complementing colors.

The hair is done in the traditional shimada hairstyle. I've kept the kanzashi in her hair to a bare minimum to reflect the casual dress.

The collar is folded with the left side overlapping the right (as it should) although since this is all super casual, I haven't added any extra collars that would have a different color (and the color of the kimono is always made of the same fabric the kimono itself is made of, so no color variation there). The back of the collar is pulled down to reveal the nape of the neck. I've also made a faint line under the obi to indicate an ohashori fold and there is a disruption of the motif (no matter how difficult to discern with the amount of pixels there are) that the fold would result in. She is wearing plain geta (wooden sandals) and no socks, as should be okay in the summer with a casual kimono.

Kimonos are a hobby of mine and I hope I've gotten most of the details right! ^___^
