HE SAVES KIDS FROM EVIL AND STUFF, Happy Sharkboi??
Sorry about that, it was a requirement as the below statement is apparently too hard to understand.
Jackie Chan was inspirational to me as a child and even now as I approach my early 20's.
His continuous "Can-Do" attitude and drive is what made him a significant idol as I grew up.
My childhood had some pretty rough patches and watching Jackie Chan helped take my mind off of things, also as I said before, his amazing philosophy towards everything taught me some pretty valuable life lessons.
When he was featured in the cartoon "Jackie Chan Adventures" with the talismans, I would go out of my way to get home as quick as possible to watch this show. The humor and wit of the show was great but it was the underlying messages of family and friendship that keep it among my fondest memories (Not to mention the awesome fight scenes and talisman use :D).
Jackie Chan is one of my childhood heroes and still continues to be.
If you haven't seen the animated adventures I really recommend you get onto it and be in for a great time also go watch his movies like Forbiddon Kingdom, Rush Hour, Drunken Master, Karate Kid, Shanghai Noon, Armour of God, The Tuxedo and The Protector (To name a few ahah) ^_^

"You must tell how it protects children from evil."
Pretty sure thats not the actual definition of hero. The fact that Jackie Chan has given me hope and inspiration throughout the dark parts of my childhood and the rest of my life would actually class him as a hero to me and thousands of other kids/young adults.
Just because he isn't a magical armoured teddy bear that farts out rainbow nightlights doesnt make him any less of a "Childhood Hero".
GG Sharkboi -_-
On a brighter note, heck yeah Drunken Master is amazing!!! :D
great job, and good luck~
Its good for you ^_^
