The man was devastated. The wreckage was a horrible sight indeed. Everything the man had built,gone in an instant. The sled was shattered into many pieces. The shining icicle stuck out of the main piece of the sled, where he was just moments ago.

His home was more than a couple kilometers off, but he had no way of telling where he was. Taking a shortcut through the cave was a horrible idea, the unstable icicles fell as soon as he came in on the sled creating a disturbance. His 5 dogs were lifeless, on the ground. Everything was lost, supplies were scattered all around.

The man was prepared to die. He had only a couple pieces of bread left and it would be night soon, those monsters would appear and attack him...Hope was lost.
A whimper from the wreckage alerted him, he knew that sound anywhere. It was his head dog, Kakur! Slowly, and dragging the dog gently from the wreckage, Kakur seemed like he was fine, maybe a broken leg. The man had to do something quick. Grabbing a piece of wood and tearing off a piece of his parka, he tied it to the dog's leg to form a makeshift splint. Kakur's wagging tail let the man know that the dog was fine other then that.

The man had noticed, the sun was beginning to set. With Kakur, he would make it home. He would survive. Picking up a long piece of study wood that once served as a rail for the sled, he thought it would make a decent club, at least until he could craft something better. Giving Kakur a pat, the man began to search the wreckage. He would survive.4
