He was a man...A man who shouldn't have died. A man who deserved his life...and no one even knows his name...and I killed him. I KILLED HIM. Back in the Vietnamese war me and the other members of the top secret National Offensive Tar-ers were stationed close to Ba Ria a very big city (not so big at the time). Me and the other NOTs were to eradicate the citizens. I shouldn't have done it. I was just a boy, 20 or so...I was Johnathan Goodfrey I had friends and a wife...About the 13th or 14th house we went into there was a man and his 4 children..all hiding in the corner the man kneeled in front of me..begging for mercy. But I did it. I sprayed the molten tar onto his children first then him. I was immediately filled with guilt. So much guilt. I couldn't stand it.. After we went back to the US I shortly forgot about it but one night when I went into my cellar to grab a can of tomato sauce.. he was there. Standing in front of me. The same hate filled eyes he had when I had killed his children. The smoke wisping off of him in long gray strands. The tar was covering most his body but the other parts looked like bone...he was burned all the way to his bones. His flesh and insides were gone... I bolted out of the cellar and up the stairs..only to find my wife was gone... gone from the spot she was 30 seconds ago. So I kept running... soon I came upon the storage shelter near the fields next to my house...I turned around. He wasn't there, I breathed a sigh of relief. Then I saw him walking a slow and steady stride. Coming for me. I ran into the building in there was boxes..I was cornered...No.
