The Mutant of the apocalypse was, before becoming this foul beast of an animal, a man. This man, Dr. Cruston, worked in a nuclear physics lab, testing products on animals. Dr. Cruston had a wife and family, all lost when the apocalypse killed almost the entire human population. The Doctor was working late one night in his lab, all the other scientists had gone home, on a new project; Cx-47s, an untested drug that could supposedly make animals stronger and bigger, to be used by the military in future wars. He was pouring the drug from its test tube into a bowl which a rat was to drink from, when a great flash of light streaked across the sky. A meteor, containting high levels of plutonium and uranium, crashed into the lab Dr. Cruston was working in, just one of millions to hit the Earth that fateful evening. The bowl of Cx-47s splashed all over Cruston's body, some into his mouth. The plutonium and uranium also made its way into the poor doctor's body. He didn't die, although a large chunk of stone from the lab wall had lodged itself in his body. Unconscious, he lay on the floor of the lab for hours.

When he awoke, no longer able to be described as a "he", its body was a sick orange and it had claws. Large spines grew out of its back, sharp enough to cut diamond. It ripped the shrapnel from its ribcage and stood. Over ten feet tall, it towered over everything else in the room. It realized, using its now miniscule brain, that it could no longer see, having to rely on smell and taste to fumble around. Its head was no longer a head, but mostly a mouth with several jagged teeth to kill everything in its path.

This creature now roams our post-apocalyptic world in search of meat, and fresh blood...
