The sands shift over the dunes in the Nha'aham desert. Merchants make their way across it to get to the other city. It is a common path but filled with superstition. Legends say that gems of unatural beauty In this desert signify death. As they make their way across the desert a ray of light catches one of their eyes and they go to investigate. Three bright orange gems are buried in the sand waiting to be claimed. However, these are no oridnary gems. They are the trap of the Sandspawn. The others warn about the legends but one dismisses it as blasphemy. He goes to grab it and the sand falls off of a lizard like creature emerging from the ground. The merchant stands in horror as its stomach opens apart revealing a mouth. It screams an ungodly scream before attacking and killing the him. Its claws are as quick as lightning and its eyes seem to see everything around it. The other merchants are quickly devoured before it digs itself back into the sand waiting for another unsuspecting prey to marvel at the large beautiful gems enlayed on its back.
