One of the best anti-villains in the MARVEL Universe, The Winter Soldier is an assassin / mercinary who was once Captain America's sidekick, Bucky. They both suffered the same fait, frozen in ice, however Bucky was awoken before Cap. and was found by the Russians. They gave Bucky a metal right arm, as it had rotted in the ice. Suffering from terrible amnesia Bucky was turned into The Winter Soldier and had no idea who he was. 

In 2011 Sebastian Stan played Bucky in Captain America: The First Avenger. He will reprise his role in the sequel, Captain America The Winter Soldier in which he will play the mindless assassin.
