That's weird that the shading doesn't show up in the preview. Looks quite nice with the shading. :)

You might try what fixed my problem - open him up in a skin editor (if you didn't use one to make him), and then save him back out. Probably has to do with the way some graphics programs handle colors. :S

I usually Skin in SkinEdit then Shade on Photoshop/GIMP. But Ok , Lol I will try to do this with Vault Boy too, Don't forget to check him out :D

I like SkinEdit, except its previewer is wrong. It rotates the bottom pieces (of the head,hat, arms, legs, and body) the wrong direction. I just noticed that the bottom of your guy's beard is on the back of his head, you might want to fix that. :)

I found MCSkin3D, while not quite as user friendly (and is missing animations) shows everything the right direction.
