Greetings, traveler. I bet you've come a long way to make it here. We don't get many visitors, it's typically just the wayward adventurer seeking riches from the old towers. Such folk almost always leave once they have their loot, so you may wonder why I'm still here.

Living in the End is not a casual undertaking. It is a choice to forgo many of the familiarities of the Overworld, settle down in a dark landscape with what your bring and the tiny range of local resources. In doing so, one gains a measure of peace: you won't run into much danger unless you're looking for it. The only ubiquitous beings of the realm are the Endermen, and they only attack in self-defense, or if you look at their faces (best to fashion yourself a pumpkin helm, or getting used to being mindful wherever you look). Aside from them, you might spawn an endermite if you use pearls enough, but they're not much more than a pest, and the Endermen don't like them either. It's easy to think these are barren lands because they are devoid of variety when compared to the other dimensions, but with adequate preparation and a touch of ingenuity, I can assure you that the outer End Islands offer tranquility and opportunity.

You might have noticed my coat. Yes, it is cut straight from the back of and Ender Dragon, and my arm guards and leggings from its wing. Slaying the beast is a sort of mark of honor among many folk. It also takes a special kind of effort to make something out of its hide. Makes for some tough yet comfortable clothing though. If you're not in the mood to skin a dragon every time you want to tailor an outfit, consider using a purpur weave like my tunic. Chorus plants have more diverse applications than most people realize. Sure the fruits are edible, and they can be popped under a fire and crafted into purpur blocks. However, if you apply low heat for a few hours, you can tease out the fibers, then spin it into a linen. Play with cooking time, temperature, and thickness to make different fabrics. It can even be hardened into a composite similar to shulker shell if prepared correctly. Innovation like this helps with becoming less dependent on Overworld resources for our basic necessities.

So, are you staying awhile? I understand if not, living here is not for everyone. No need to make a hasty decision either: without a cycle of day and night, there's plenty of time to do as you see fit. If you think you have the dedication though, I would happily welcome another neighbor. To be a resident of this Frontier is to learn from and apply both old and new.
