I downloaded this and tried it on a single-player world, but all I only got different dyes sitting on top of my head.
None of theme seem to have custom helmet textures.
Could there be something I'm doing wrong?

If you mean the red highlighted text above the comments that talks about doing /hat on a server, then I read that part. Unfortunately I don't have the ability to use /hat on any of the servers I use as most of them require different ranks.
