I just tried it and I really liked it. Obviously it isnt done yet but I think it looks really rustic and well, shaded. One tip: Underneath the iron block near the top of the terrain.png file (main picture you posted), there is what looks like the side of grass. Get your eraser and rub out that because whats happening is your re-textured grass-side is merging with the default grass-side and you dont want that
