Project has been taken back up as of 5/28/22*


The current plan is to release for version 1.7.10, and then hopefully forward to 1.12.2. It will take a while since it's circa 1.2.5, and there is a heck of a lot to learn for me. Furthermore 1.12.2+ versions may be partially adaptable, as I plan on making this work with the mod Future MC, since I simply don't play further minecraft versions at this time. Questions? Taiyo means, "sun" in Japanese. I think it's a good pick for a texture that is meant to be from the Land of the Rising Sun! I've had a fascination with Japan and it's traditional culture, patterns, textures, and Shinto traditions for a long time, and I've finally gotten around to making it a part of my Minecraft experience. I hope you guys like the idea!

I'm far from finished with the pack, and starting from nearly square one, but I'd like to see what others think about it! As far as changes from the original idea, I'm smoothing a lot of things out. The nether won't be crazy since there is now netherquartz, which is a life saver! Ladders and various little things have changed, although I've lightened a lot of wood as far as peoples suggestions, and it looks great. Going to keep working on this and hopefully make something that others can enjoy.

I'm most likely going to do the majority of the pack in 16x, with a few nice pieces in 32x. Like water, certain mobs, etc.

 Stained Glass
I plan on making the stained glass into various hanging and decoration ornaments such as statues and shrine or temple elements that otherwise would not have an in-game equivalent to create.

 Temple Building
I will be using quartz blocks to make temples viable to build, like Torii Gates and other structures featuring bright reds and golds.

 Yellow Springs
I intend for the Nether to work like Yomi, or the underworld, land of the dead, or world of darkness.


Carpet Tatami Mat Guide
The Tatami are a little tricky to get the hang of, so I color coded them I would go further with explaining the side they're on, but when building, it only matters which direction the building faces at the time, so it wouldn't be supremely helpful. Just hover over to see the color. It may be difficult to use them at first. These will also appear as carpeting, so there's a lot of variety to choose from.

Notes and Credits
A lot of my inspiration comes from various Japanese myth and folklore, and also traditional artwork and building techniques.

I'm currently building this pack over Good Morning Craft because of the size, though I plan on all textures to become 100% my own!

I plan on doing a lot with this one, and I hope that I'll get feedback, ideas and critiques from the community!
