Basics for speeding up Minecraft - Rookie Level

Still having low fps after learning the basics? Try these
methods and I'm sure it'll make your minecraft
slightly faster!

A thank-you gift for putting this blog on the Hot section
---------------------------------------------------------
1. Disable Core Parking - Most of the people today don't notice
that their cores are parked. All of us have a task. If we
are doing that task, we are active(parked). If we finished that
task and have no more pending tasks, we are inactive(unparked).
The same principle can be applied to cores. Using a core
parking manager, you can disable core parking so cores can
be active anytime. First, download the app at
(www.coderbag.com/programming-c/disable-cpu-core-parking-utility).
Then, go into the folder and search for the application(use
common sense, the file extension is "application"). If it is
in a rar file, extract the folder. Run the application as administrator
by right-clicking the app and click "Run as administrator."
Click these in order: Check Status>Unpark Cores and after that
restart your computer.

2. Scan for viruses - Using your windows defender(click start>search for
windows defender>click scan), you can scan for viruses. I do not
recommend other antivirus, but you can optionally use
Avast, MalwareBytes, and Avira(I don't like Norton, but it
does not mean they suck). Viruses causes your computer to slow
down, but deleting them makes your computer faster. If your computer
has more than 100 viruses, then, ....reformat your computer?

3. Disable antivirus during gaming and enable antivirus after gaming.
No need for explanation. Go to your antivirus and options and
disable real-time protection when you're playing. After playing,
enable your antivirus.

4. Update your graphics driver - This is VERY NECESSARY
in speeding up Minecraft. Go to your manufacturer's website
and download the latest software possible. If you don't know
your graphics hardware, you can search the internet on how to.
There's a million of solution, but I can't fit one here, unless I make
another blog.

5. Run your minecraft with your GPU - THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
TO DO IN SPEEDING UP MINECRAFT. Most of the people today play minecraft
using their primary GPU, which is commonly Intel. They might not know
that their main GPU is AMD, NVIDIA, or others. In this blog, I'll
teach you how to run your Minecraft in either AMD or NVIDIA only.

Running minecraft with NVIDIA - simply, right-click your minecraft.exe
and click "Run with graphics processor." It may be changed, but the
process is similar.

Running minecraft with AMD - Click start>search for "Amd Catalyst
Control Center" >Power>Switchable Graphics Application Settings. Click
"add application" and search for your Minecraft application. If you
don't know where it is located, search for "%appdata%" and click
".minecraft" The application is there, you just have to search for it.

6. Stop Throttling(for users with a fan powerful enough to make
your computer/laptop at good temperature) - Throttling can be
explained with this story. There are 3 people, Joe(a slave master),
Joeby(the slave), and Joebebe(Semi-Slave). Joe is forcing Joeby to work
hard, but since it's hot, Joeby can't. Because of this, Joeby asked Joebebe
to fan him to keep him cool. Joeby continued working with the aid of
Joebebe. The same is with the laptop, although the principle can't apply
with what really is happening. Your laptop has its throttling system. Normally,
your laptop produces heat because of energy transformation(Chemical Energy - Thermal Energy).
This heat can melt down your cores. To avoid this, your laptop throttles to keep your laptop
at good temperature. Therefore, your laptop makes the cores "rest" to stop heating. Therefore,
your laptop slows down.
First, download the app here (www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2288/throttlestop-6-00/).
Then, run app as administrator. Look for clock modulation, and tick the checkbox behind it.
Look for Chipset Clock Mod, and tick the checkbox behind it. Look for Set Multiplier, and
tick the checkbox beside it. Finally, at the lower right corner, click "Turn On". Do not do
this unless you have a fan that will keep the laptop cold, or else, your laptop will
"melt itself!" Wapow! You have stopped your laptop from slowing down.

7. Optifine - You can download optifine everywhere, so I will not put a download link
since many people are claiming that it is their own. Install optifine in your minecraft
(it is a mod). After this, you gain extra settings(in the minecraft game itself, of course!)
When you hover a particular option, a box explaining the graphics will come out. It can say
"Faster FPS" or "Slower FPS." Use your common sense and put the settings as low as possible.

Update #2 : by HAHAHAbontis 12/18/2015 6:29:45 pmDec 18th, 2015

I just found out that on step 6, stopping throttles, I just mentioned laptop. The reason for that is I'm using a laptop. You can also do it on computers, you just have to fan your  CPU(which is the box)(that is what we call in our place), not the monitor. Otherwise, go to a room with a cold temperature to get your computer's box(i dont know what it's called, i forgot lol) to a good temperature.

Many good tips here, surprised you didn't mention overclocking. Am I right to assume you are using a laptop? And congrats with your third post!

Thanks! I haven't mentioned overclocking here since I will put it in advanced level. You are right to assume that

I am using a laptop, but I know how to overclock. Thanks btw

I also forgot that you must not use programs that claim to speed up your PC. Use it at your own risk.
Happy Gaming!
