Hey guys ruincastler1 here with a compilation of cools ways to protect your house. These are meant to be fun and creative ways to "protect your house", and are NOT effective against actual live players. So that everyone knows, these are simply cool redstone or lava traps that can be installed around a house and activated easily. So let's begin.
1. Well of course, there's the common lava moat, which is basically a ditch around the structure you wish to protect. Lava is then poured into the ditch, making a moat. You could make a bridge using trapdoors that close and open at the flick of a switch.
2. The fire pit/ditch is a variation of the lava moat, and is basically a ditch around the structure you wish to protect. At the bottom, be sure to place netherrack. Finally, use a tinder and flint to light the bottom on fire, and walla! You have a fire pit.
3. Iron golems can be built and stored in a separate room, and released using a simple piston door. If these doors are located close to your house, it makes an excellent defense against mobs, because of the incredible strength of these utility mobs.
4. CACTUS MAZE!!!! Make the outline of a maze around your house using sand, then plant cactuses on top! To make sure that no one can escape, make sure to use a checker pattern for the walls. To make sure that you can find your way past the maze, either include a hidden trapdoor at the beginning, with a tunnel leading into your house, or just MEMORIZE the maze lol...
5. COMMAND BLOCKS. Build a small hut/shed and include a command block with coordinates input to your real house. Attach a button. Then, when a mob is chasing you, run into the hut and teleport back to your house! Phew...safe...
