The rain fell endlessly drenching all things in sight, most people were inside right now keeping dry only a few braved the rain and even then it was only quickly in and out with the cover of an umbrella. However more people were outside in such weather nowadays, though most normal people did not know why. A sound of sipping broke the silence, the sound came from a young girl sat on an old wooden bench underneath a tree, she had snow white hair and eyes, she wore a white kimono with a black trim and a flower design over it, her delicate features and pale skin stood out in the darkness. Beside her lay a white parasol and to the right of the bench stood another person, this one wearing a long black coat with a hooded smaller jacket underneath along with a white t-shirt and jeans with a pair of trainers, he stood out in the rain and did not seem to mind it.

"Is it nearby?" Asked the girl.

"Indeed it is, not too sure where exactly and a few other of our kind are nearby." Replied the boy.

The girl sighed and stood up, she threw her can away and picked up and opened her parasol, holding it above her she stepped out into the rain.

"Well if we sit around we will lose them right, so lets go." She calmly said.

The boy nodded to her and followed the girl along. They walked through the rain the girl under her parasol the boy covered by his jacket, they walked further into the park and upon reaching the center found what they were after. Under the flickering light of the nearby lampposts a shape could be seen crouched to the ground, it was too large to be human and too human in shape to be an animal. It did not matter to the pair this is what they had spent the entire day looking for. From the figure a crunching and slurping sound could be heard, the boy coughed and the figure turned to face them. With it's face now illuminated its' features were revealed, a fat green face with fangs protruding from the top and bottom of its' mouth, deep blank, black eyes. It stood up to its' full height and towered of the girl and boy. The beast growled at the sight of them and threw what it was holding toward them. The boy stopped it with his foot and looked down.

"Damn we're a bit late it has already eaten someone." He sighed, the girl looked over and saw a femur on the ground, it had been picked clean by the creature.

"Well that does not really matter it just means we have a little more work to do, now you know what to do while I work on the other part right partner." She replied. The boy nodded and stepped towards the creature while the girl balanced her parasol on her shoulder and put her hands together. She began muttering something and the creature roared in anger.

"Now them ogre, you know the rules of demon kind. Law states we can exist near humans as long as we do not harm them!" The boy yelled to the ogre.

"Hmmmph I care not for that treaty it has destroyed our way of life and as you know very well humans give us the largest amount of energy compared to anything else. Or have you forgotten their taste." The Ogre grumbled back, the boy sighed and swiped his right arm out, paper came from his sleeve and circled around before forming a sword which he grabbed.

"I have not ever eaten a human, I have no need nor no right and as you have broken the treaty I have no choice but to enact order 375, you are charged with murder and devouring a human as such your punishment is death." The boy commanded. He charged forward and swung at the ogre which despite its size was able to launch itself backwards leaving two large holes where the feet had pushed off from the ground, this did not faze the boy who followed after at inhuman speed to continue his attack, the ogre swung wildly at the boy as he jumped around trying to find an opening.

The girl meanwhile had not moved from her spot, she kept muttering for a few more moments before she next spoke.
"By the order of void and space I create this barrier!" She yelled, around the park a large shimmering wall appeared and formed together in the sky above into a large dome, it shimmered beautifully in the dark, the girl now close her parasol and flipped it around so the end she held was facing forward.

"Now no one can enter or leave this place until I remove it, now to help Jano." She said calmly as she ran off in the direction he and the ogre had gone. Jano had noticed the barrier appear and was now completely on the offensive, he had cut the ogre a few times but the muscle and fat protected it well. The ogre swung an arm towards jano and he had no choice but to raise his arms to block it, the punch was powerful and flung Jano back a good distance. He knelt on his right knee to catch his breath and turned his sword back to paper which flowed around him.

"Hahahahahah is this the power of a contracted being, pathetic you would have more power if you devoured rats." The ogre laughed, Jano growled slightly and stood up, he re-made his sword and pointed it towards the ogre,

"We are not weak beings, yet our entire power is not available. Yes this is what a contract does to us, however we have immunity to hunters and we have another benefit to the contract." Jano replied. "Isn't that right Sayaki!"

The girl stopped next to Jano.

"Indeed it does Jano." Sayaki replied.

Jano smiled as he felt the connection and readied himself for his next attack.

Wait wait wait, what is going on we have gotten a decent amount into this story and we know very little about it altogether. Ok then, Jano and Sayaki are called contracters it is when a human with magic makes a deal with a magical creature in this case Jano the shikigami or paper demon, he is able to change his body freely between paper and flesh and use it to create weapons and Sayaki is a priestess and will find out more about that later. They are members of a special order, the order of Setai that were created during the war between humans and demons they destroyed many until one day a group of demons offered an alliance. These demons came from many kinds and were tired of this fighting, it was decided the demons and their descendants would make a contract with members of the order and their families. This contract benefited both sides as we will now see.

Jano pushed off the ground and seemingly vanished, the ogre looked around everywhere and then felt a sharp pain go from his back to his chest and upon looking saw Jano's blade sticking out from him.

"How can you be so fast shikigami?" The ogre asked.

"Wind magic."

"You can't use that."

"No but Sayaki can, the contract allows us to share certain things, our senses and magic." Jano ended. He grabbed his sword with his left hand and began pushing, the ogres' body gave way and he was cut in two. His body burst into flames which span around and formed a small ball on the ground. Jano picked it up and absorbed the magic within. Sayaki removed the barrier and the two of them began walking again this time to their home.
