OK, first of all, this is NOT a 'How to survive your first night' post. This will be a guide to teach you everything I know about Minecraft. It will cover everything from singleplayer to making servers, punching trees to making mods, uploading skins to making them, taking screenshots to animating. Not all of the content will be mine (AKA. I will sometimes give links to other people's posts that explains or allows you to do a certain thing). There will be a series of blogs and, depending on how many views they get, I'll bring them out more often.
So, in this blog I'll cover how to get started and some places to look for resources. So, I'll assume you already have Minecraft, if you don't, then go here for the download.
The first step out of newb-dom is getting a skin! If you're looking for a good one, then just look here, on PMC (Go on the "What's Hot" section for popular skins)! If you want to make your own then I recommend you use Paint.NET and/or check out this great blog by La_Pixel! If you think the Minecraft skin has limits then check out thehippomaster21's Animated Player Mod (Which I'll cover in more detail in a later blog).
After you've got a skin you'll surely want to dive right into a survival world (I did!), but if you want to learn how the game works then there's absolutely nothing wrong with creating a quick creative-superflat world and building houses, building machines, building traps and killing mobs (All of which I'll cover in later posts)! Or you could go on a server and play with other people (You can find servers on the PMC listings)!
Well, if you think this is a good idea, or have a request for a tutorial, then comment below!
