Today I'm going to be talking to you guys about PvPing!

Lots of people struggle often with PvP (player versus player) battles. These can be all sorts of types of PvP, for example:

 - Close range PvP (close-up fighting with swords)
 - Long range PvP (long-distance fighting with bows)
 - Nuke PvP (normally medium distance using TNT)
 - Tank PvP (most people have OP armour including yourself)

The first one I would like to talk about is close range PvP.

When you're PvPing someone at close range using swords, it's tempting to go right in and battle your opponent to death. Although this sometimes can be effective, it's not as effective as having a clever tactic.

My personal favourite tactic is what I call the circle of doom. 
This is where you run up to the player you're going to PvP against and then instantly jump out of the way to either the right or left hand side of the player. You must then quickly turn around and hit them when they're facing the other way. They will then turn to face you, but whilst they're doing that, you must run around them in a circle whilst hitting them every second or two.
NOTE: Do not do this for too long as it's really annoying to both you and the player and you'll end up dying from the player realising what you're doing and intercepting you to kill you.

Another personal favourite tactic of mine is what I call the jump over.
This is where you run up to the player and jump high whilst striking them with a sword at the same time. You'll then be 180° behind them and you'll need to turn around as quick as possible to spam the jump button and keep hitting them. This will get you critical hits which do more damage to the player.

Next I'm going to talk about long range PvP.

When you're PvPing someone at long range using bows and arrows, it's tempting to stay out in the open and shoot randomly, but that's the worst thing you can do.

One way to get shot less is by a tactic I call the escape wall.
This is where you build a small structure which allows a 1x1 gap for you to shoot the opponent through and also a 2x1 gap out the back into a safe-zone area which the opponent cannot possibly shoot you in through the hole. The reason there is a 1x1 hole is because it's harder for the opponent to shoot you as they'll have to have a lot better aim.

Another way to avoid getting shot is by making a small cave.
This is just a 4x6 cave which is somewhere at the edge of the mountain which you can stay on to camp and shoot opponents from. This is probably the best way to stay out of trouble. In reality, if you kill a player and they know your hiding spot, they will come after you and attempt to kill you. This is where the rest of the cave comes handy. You can use this space to store whatever you want, but you can also set traps and make a small corner which will be your safe-zone where you can hold shift (so they can't see your username through the walls) to avoid getting caught.

Now I'm going to talk about Nuke PvP.

This is a rather harsh part about PvP as it involves TNT which is used to explode you and your creations.

One way of owning people at this is by doing a simple thing which I call the cannon.
To make this, simple place 2 tnt blocks horizontally next to each other. Then, light the rear (back) one first and wait 2 seconds before lighting the front one. Now, you need to run away by about 10-15 blocks to avoid getting hurt. Hopefully, if it all works OK, then the front one will fly forward by around 20 blocks if it's positioned high up. To increase the force, increase the number of TNTs that are behind the first one.

Another way is what I call bombing.
To do this, you need lots of blocks. Then, build a bridge from your "base" to where your enemy is. The bridge needs to be around 15-20 blocks higher than your enemy's base. Once you're over it, simply place the TNT on the side of your bridge and light it. It should then fall down and explode on your enemy, thus killing them. If that doesn't do it, then let some more TNT off.

And now for Tank PvP.

Tank PvP is personally my least favourite type of PvP as it takes too long to kill people. However, it's also a good way to ensure that you don't die as often.

The best way of being awesome in Tank PvP is by rushing.
To do this, you need to set up your sprint key. Press the Esc button and click on Options. Then go to Controls and set "Sprint" to a button which you don't need to use (i.e. the left control button). Then, make sure you have plenty of food and hold the left control button (or whatever you set it to) whilst charging at your opponents and spamming the left mouse click.
