Hey guys so I'm going to be showing you how to make a minecraft server.... It isn't that hard actually as long as you know all the things to do with it!
Step One:
Go to this web address www.minecraft.net/download.
Step Two:
Download the minecraft_server.jar file.
Step Three:
Make a folder called Minecraft_Server or something like that.
Step Four:
Go into TextEdit [already installed on mac]
Go to "Format" then hit "Plain Text"
Step Five:

Copy and Paste this into that:
#!/bin/bash
cd "$(dirname "$0")"
exec java -Xmx1G -Xms1G -jar minecraft_server.jar
Step Six:
Save it as start.command
Step Seven:
Go to "spotlight" at the top right hand corner.
Search up "terminal" and type this EXACTLY:
chmod a+x Everything tat wasn't in yellow don't type don't forget the space at the end or it won't work!
Step Eight:
Drag the "start.command" into the terminal then hit [enter]
Step Nine:
Double click the minecraft_server.jar that you downloaded earlier and it should say at the end "Do /help for a list of commands" then your ready!

Thanks but it isn't over you have to do these steps:
Step 1:
Go to system preferences.
Step 2:
Click "network"
Step 3:
At the bottom corner it says "advanced" click that.
Step 4:
Click in the top "TCP/IP" It says "IPv4 Address: [your network address].
Step 5:
That is you IP address for the server.
Ok your still not done follow these last steps for victory!
Step 1:
Open "server.properties" file.
It should say lots of things.
Step 2:
Close to the top it should say "server IP" enter in the numbers that you did before for the IP address.
Step 3:
Probably next to the IP address it should say "server port or just port" enter in your port [mine is 25565].
Step 4:
Drag every file that you have used into the Minecraft_Server or whatever you named your folder at the beginning to make it nice and neat.
Step 5:
Double click the "minecraft_server.jar" it should have the thing with the "do /help for commands".
Step 6:
Go to the "ops" text thing. Open that and type your username.
Step 7:
Go into minecraft with the "minecraft_server.jar" still running go to "add server" and type this in:
Server Name:
[The name you want your server to be]
Server Address:
[The address you looked up before]
Step 8:
Always keep the minecraft_server.jar thing up so that means the server is up.
Step 9:
Click the "join server" then there you have it!
