intro

this post is going to be going up a bit later then usual because i maybe forgot it was monday, somehow the fact i had to do school didn't clue me in. even now i kinda just want to watch the movie i was planning on watching but we have a mod post to do so... here we go

what is inventory pets?

inventory pets is a mod that adds exactly what it says it is. the mod adds items you can make that are little pets that live in your inventory, they will give you various perks and also companionship. i've personally used this mod quite a bit in various mod packs since the pets themselves usually aren't that hard to make and i've also found them different times as loot in chests.

likes

the perks

each pet has it own unique perk that encourages you to keep it in your inventory at all times. certain ones are more useful then others, my personal favourites being the anvil pet and the chest pet. the anvil pet allowing you to feed it nuggets in exchange for it repairing all your tools slowly which is something incredibly helpful, especially for someone like me who goes through tools very fast. the chest pet is also great as it allows you to essentially have a bigger inventory which is great for mining trips.

dislikes

it can be overpowered

recently i've been reviewing a lot of vanilla+ style mods and this is very much not that. some of the perks that these pets offer is incredibly overpowered and some are just overpowered in certain contexts. for example i once was playing a mod pack that included both vampirism and this mod and i managed to fix my blood issue by using the wolf pet. this pet allows you to summon pet dogs at pretty much any time. now, this may seem cruel to you but i did use this pet to summon dogs that i sucked dry of blood whenever i was hungry. which was honestly a lot of fun and funny since i was playing with pearl at the time. but this mod can change your minecraft experience a lot even if you're only playing with it installed. so keep that in mind

final thoughts

inventory pets is a great mod that's a lot of fun especially with other mods and/or with friends and i would recommend it. although you should probably keep in mind that it can be overpowered and probably shouldn't be taken too seriously.
