First off, I'd like to say that this is my first time doing a mod review. I've wanted to have a crack at it for some time, and I guess that time is now! The mod I shall be reviewing is ARS Magica, by Mithion. Though it's not currently on PMC, you can still find ithere. The mod is loosely based of aboard-gameof the same name, which you can read abouthere. I will be covering the general content this mod provides rather than showing specifics, so if that's what you were looking for... sorry! Okay, now without further ado, let's get going!

The main bulk of this mod is in the spells. Using anInscriptionTable (very easy to make), you can craft up to 70 different spells with effects as far ranged as demon summoning and teleportation. To make these spells, you will need to collect different dyes. That means things such as cactus farms and lapis lazuli mining will be very helpful. This seems straightforward until you realize therecipesfor these spells are hidden! You must travel around, looking for spellrecipesin loot chests, and only then can you craft them with yourInscriptionTable. This feature makes exploration a must, and adds a sense of achievement when you unlock a new recipe.

To make finding loot such as spell recipes and Element Essences (another new item this mod adds), Ars Magica generates specialabove-groundstructures. These towers and forts look nice, and can hold treasures or traps. A specific structure, labeled as "The Archmage Tower", only spawns one per world. It's guarded by new monsters this game adds, and holds unique items you can't find anywhere else! Finding these structures is exciting to say the least.

This mod adds a few different enemies for you to fight: Wisps, glowing orbs that contain magic in them! Hecates, magical witches who attack you with demonic powers... Mana Creepers which suck your magic force right from you! Tower Guardians, which guard the Archmage Tower. Those are just a few, but there are plenty more in store!

Mana is what you use to cast spells. The higher magic level you are, the more max mana you have. Every spell has a mana cost, some high, some low. The teleportation spell's mana cost depends on how far away you are from the teleport location. Manaregeneratesslowly, so it's best to beconservative with it. If you plan on relying on spell-based attacks while on a mission, avoid Mana Creepers, because being left with no weapon sucks.

This mod has three different sets of armor. The armor in this mod does things differently from the default armor. For one, it gives you both real defense and magical defense, meaning spells are blocked too. The magical armors also can use mana to healthemselves, making them essentially infinitedurability. If you have the resources to make some, go for it!

This is really a very good mod. It adds content that flows with MInecraft, but also expands on the game and makes the experience more fun. I only covered a few of the treats Ars Magica has to offer, so I suggest you check out the Ars Magica Wiki to find out more. All in all, a great mod you should try out sometime! Hope you liked this review!

Really awesome review, however the formatting is a bit quirky. Can you try to make it more "stable?" Other than that, great first review! I didn't do this good of a job.
