Skinners Help, Skin Requests Introduction
Hey guys! It’s Lily, sharing another blog :) Thought since I’ve seen that lots of people have trouble accepting requests, and doing other things with them, I thought I would share my ideas with you! :D
I might make this a series of blogs, my main priority to help skinners live a better skinning life!
Plus hopefully to decrease the leaving of skinners c:
Accepting Requests
Accepting requests isn’t easy. Each time I get a request to make a skin, I always think, “Do I have time to make it, and will the requester be happy with the results?” If either of those questions are no, I say no to the requester. But accepting requests can be so much easier. Here are some of the responses I came up with to respectfully respond to the person.
“Yes, that sounds like a really interesting request! I will accept your request and try to get it done by Monday.”
“Thank you for requesting! I will be done with your request very soon. I hope you like it!”
Declining Requests
Declining requests is even HARDER than accepting. I find it hard because I really hate to disappoint people. Especially my subscribers! Declining requests is probably one of the hardest things a skinner has to do. It’s a very big problem, but I believe it could be fixed pretty easily! Here are some of the responses I came up with for declining with respect.
“Sorry, but I’m really busy this week. Requests aren’t open at the moment, but they might open later when I think the time is right and my schedule works out!”
“Very sorry to disappoint you, but requests aren’t open. Maybe come back later and find a slot for a request!”
Respectful Requests
This part of the blog will show how to make a perfect, respectful request. This will become mighty helpful when you see one of your favorite skinners accepting requests.
First step of “Respectful Requests”
You should complement the skinner before stating your request. You should say what you like about their skins. Example:
“Hello, I think your skins are amazing! I love how you put as much color as possible into your skins. They’re so beautiful and bright!”
Second step of “Respectful Requests”
You should say what you would want to the skin-maker here. Make sure it’s specific, and DO NOT tell them to “make whatevur you want! just make it perfect for me!!!!111!!” Good example:
“Hello, could you make me this: (insert link and picture here), Just please remove the glasses and don’t do the pants. Just a skirt is fine!”
Third step of “Respectful Requests”
You should thank them for opening requests and letting you get a slot. Example:
“Thanks so much! I really can’t wait and thanks for opening requests! I’m so glad I got a slot of my own!”
Fourth step of “Respectful Requests”
You should also tell them that if they can’t do it, don’t be worried. This helps the skin-maker because it decreases the amount of anxiety for the skinner. For example, they get very worried that the skins won’t be perfect and fabulous for the requesters, and they get those nagging voices in their heads, saying, “Do my request! Come back home! Get off your lazy butt!” So when you follow my advice for this fourth step, the skinner is more relaxed, and more relaxed skinners = less leaving skinners. Example:
“Plus, it’s fine if you can’t do it. I see you have many requesters waiting on you, so if you are too busy don’t be pushed to accept!”
Fifth step of “Respectful Requests”
The last; and final step of making a request. This is basically just like a rule for most skin-makers. Don’t get mad if they decline. If they decline, it’s perfectly okay. Just don’t annoy, or spam them. Most likely, if you don’t get the request then, you’ll find a slot later.
Ending Example + Explanation
If you follow all my steps and advice, then your request will look something like this:
"Hello, I really love your skins and how you color them! I was wondering if you could make me my persona (insert persona and link here) You can make your own twist on her, but please do make sure it looks somewhat like her cx Thanks so much for the slot! Plus, if you can't find time to do my request, then please do decline. I really dislike when people rush themselves!"
This way, the skinner is complemented and happy, more relaxed, and the chance of your request being accepted is higher.
Plus, you sound very proffessional and you don't sound like you would never do anything with the skin you recieve!
Dealing with Requests
Now that that’s over, we’ve got one more topic to go on about. This topic is dealing with requests. What I like to do, is to get the requests done and over with. But you could also tell your subscribers that you need a bit of a break. But do NOT tell them that you won’t finish them. That will make the requesters mad at you and nobody likes when people are mad at each other. Instead, tell them that there will be a bit of a delay. Tell them that you’re very sorry and you will try to get them done soon. But for the most thing, try to get them done SOON AS POSSIBLE. Don't rush, but be very, very fast. Try to do your best and impress the person, but remind yourself how many skins and people are waiting on you!

Bye, your skins look like poop. You only have gray on your skins. They're so horrible! Make me something you 100% KNOW i'll love. Your mean I can't BELIVE you didn't let me get a slot! And, if you can, your stupid.
