Chapter 2
"What was that?" I ask Tanner, who is staring intently at a cave. "I dont know, maybe a cow or something." He shurgs." Should we go down that cave?" I open my mouth to reply, only to be stopped by an arrow wizing by, inches from my nose. I look over and see where it came from. A skelly is advancing on us. "Come on" he says tugging my arm.
A loud groan echoes around the mountains on all sides of us. 4 more follow it. A horde of zombies are coming at us. A spider hisses from the trees. Tanner grabs my hand and races me across the forest. I smile, thinking we are going to out run them. But my smile turns into a worried gasp. We're blocked in, by a big hill made of dirt and stone.
My necklace feels warm beneath my shirt. "we'r- we're trapped" i say. Tanner gulps. "Yeah..." He produces a dagger from his pocket. Maybe at least we can fight off some of them. I look around and brake a large stick from a tree. "Better than nothing" I say when he grins. Loud footsteps and bones clanking together alert us of their presence. 2 arrows wiz my us. A third embeds into my shirt and pins me against thhe hill. "ugh" I say. Seems like my luck to be pinned. Again.
Tanner jogs over to help me, but a second arrow pins him too. "wha-" I gasp. Skellys were never this cordinated.I look at the arrow on his shoulder. Wait a second... "thats not an ordinary arrow..." I whsiper, half to myself. Then the skellys and monsters arrive.In iron and chain armor they hold hefty weapons. Tanner gasps.They come closer. I huddle my head to wait for my fate. My neckalce feels wamer.
But suddenly a golden shine shines all across the bowl of mountains. My necklace lifts itself from my neck. Me and
Tanner stare at it in amazment. The monsters halt, sheilding their eyes. The neckalce lifts into the air, and comes to life. White wings unfold from a body. Golden hair floats as if in water. A golden slip is on the fairy. the monsters all disappear into a black cloud of darkenss, swallowing them up. And then, they are... gone. The arrows holding me and Tanner pinned dissapear. The pendant falls to the ground, leaving me and Tanner to stare at it.
