So, i'm pretty sure everyone knows that people in the US are mean to Canada and people in Canadia are mean to those in the US. My one question is why? First I wanna look at stereo types that are probably a reason for this.
Canada: Live in snow most of the time, say "eh?". That were weak, we rely on the US, if it wasn't for them Canada would crumble, etc.
USA: Fat, lazy, carries guns around, don't eat healthy, stuck up, etc.
Both are incorrect to a certain point. Yes Canada has cold winters, but only during the winter, snow isn't always around. It's true, some of us do say eh, but not all Canadians do. Canada's weak? Then when the US tried to conquer us? We pushed them all the way back to the White House, and burned it down in 18--(I forget the year). It's true Canada rely's much on US, but so does the US with Canada, if one of out economies were to go wrong, both would suffer. (We both slowly grow out of this though)
People in USA fat and lazy? It's true in both countries! People make fun of USA cause their number 1 in obesity, well, Canada is number 3, it's not that big of a difference! Both countries have fat people and lazy people. Well, I know the stereo type of the US not eating well is a obvious lie, I mean, have you seen how skinny some people are their/ And both, I repeat both, countries are stuck up........majorly!
Things that also contribute to this is the lack of knowledge about both countries. Now how many people even knew it WAS Canada who burnt down the white house? How many think it was British forces? IT WAS CANADA, we were part of the British colonies at the time, it was Canadian forces who did it. How many people know about Canada's win on Vimy Ridge in France? It was taken in two days. Did anyone even know a nickname for Canada for both WWI and WWII was "Storm troopers" cause we never gave up? I could go on about battles, what were like now, etc.
(Kinda controversial the point is I guess. I would type some things about the US, but idk much)
On an episode of the Rick Mercer report, he went to the US and asked questions about Canada. Two questions were asked, and both were believed that Canada has a smaller version of the white house, but made out of ice, and we can't have a navy, because all our water is frozen.
We know nothing about each other! And that might be a major reason why were rude, mean, hate, each other!
Got a stereo type on Americans or Canadians? Fact about Canada I missed? Any facts on the US? Post a comment below. =D
(Also Note: I am Canadian if you have not figured it out)
