An overall changing of recipes related to smelting.                             100% Compleat

Placing more reliance on the blast furnace and the smoker by removing recipes from the original furnace.

The changed recipes include
  • a new blast furnace recipe (picture shone above)
  • lengthening the cook times of all the recipes from the blast furnace and smoker
  • and removing all recipes from the furnace that the blast furnace and smoker cover.

polished Blackstone can now only be smelted from Blackstone, blast furnace recipe now includes polished Blackstone

i am not a scientist but shouldn't smelting be faster in The Nether as its a lot hotter there then in the Overworld

True, but there is no way to change a recipe in the midle of play. Although it is possible to detect what dimension.
And cook time can be changed but it is preset and then unchangeable unless you go into the file, change the number, then reload minecraft.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately it is not possible

It's working exactly how I imagined and asked. You just made my day man, I'm very very thankful! You just forgot to make it possible to make the blast furnace with polished blackstone aswell so it's possible to make it in the Nether for the new 1.16.

I can easily fix that but I would like to first draw your attention to the fact that polished Blackstone is made similar to polished (Andesite, Diorite, Granite) whereas smooth stone is made by smelting stone.

I would like your response to this before I make any changes to the pack but I do understand for the wish for a fully neither based survival game.

while this is in debate I will change the protect to say 90% complete until this is resolved

Since we don't have smooth blackstone I thought the nearest similar would be the polished version. But that's ok if either the polished or the raw version is used. I personally rather polished cause I don't think any other versions of it would make more sense (maybe the polished cracked brick ones since it actually need to be smelted too, but it would only make sense in terms of functionality). Or, just to make it match, you could change the recipe from smooth stone to stone bricks and have blackstone bricks as an alternative. Doesn't fit the blast furnace's texture but it's an option and I would like any of those ideas. You choice. Thank you again.
