Want to easily move your chests full of items from one location to another? Now you can.

For Minecraft 1.17+

Datapack Features:

• Enables chests to keep their items inside when broken!

• Breaking a container will drop the chest with the items still inside, without dropping all of the contents everywhere.

• Placing a container back down will retain any items that were still inside!

• Even works in creative mode!
(Unless the silk touch requirement setting is enabled)

• This affects chests, trapped chests, and barrels!

• Filled containers will display their contents in text when hovered over in an inventory just like shulker boxes!

• By default, silk touch is required on the tool mining a container in order for it to retain its contents!
(This can be disabled in the Admin Info page)

• Supports the Expanded Storage mod v7.3.11 for both Forge and the Fabric Loader!

• Still prevents infinite storage by putting filled containers inside filled containers!

• Admins may type "/function shulkerchests:admin_info" to toggle individual categories of containers, or whether or not silk touch is required!

Seems to be an issue if you do not use the Mod mentioned it throws errors on loading.

After reviewing the files, it is not organized in a way that I could work out the actual issue. But would say till this is fixed the datapack while great in concept is far from ready for use on vanilla servers that do not want to use mods. Also, when single world tested and reviewing logs found similar issues noted.

Solution offer the datapack with and without the mod. This way players can use it without worrying about the mod for expanded storage.

The errors are expected when the mod that adds new blocks isn't present since the game doesn't recognize the block IDs that some files in the datapack mention, but the datapack is written in a way that those function files the game invalidates aren't needed when the mod isn't present anyway! If you loaded the datapack with the expanded storage mod then the errors won't appear since the block IDs the datapack mentions do exist with the mod present.

Unless the datapack doesn't work for you for some other reason, those errors are normal and to be expected when you aren't using the expanded storage mod, and the rest of the datapack should function as intended. Did you see if the datapack still worked?

No given we were going to use it on a server and did not want to see a spew of errors during startup. We did not feel the need to test further, however, I will test later today and see if it is working. Should it work without issue we will then hand off to someone to try and remove the unneeded sections and clean it up so that we do not need to see these any longer.



As for the error I must ask why you feel generating errors in any form is okay. Usually if a datapack works as it should no errors should ever be present. Oh well.



I'll let you know if any errors when testing.

Note I did not further test as the issue was during loading of the datapack. This occurred if loaded during initial start of server or if added via enabling of the datapack.

Putting shulker box (that has shulker chest) into a shulker chest is pretty much an infinite storage aswell, so is there a way to not include shulker box into shulker chest when dropped?
