Don't install to Program Files! Recommended installation directory is C:/MCSkin3D/

If you used Legacy version previously, please update to 1.6! It should work for you now.

- Re-upgraded to .NET 4.0
- Reduced size of exception messages
- Moved tool options dropdown to top-right

MCSkin3D Beta 1.4.0.174: http://alteredsoftwo...b_1_4_0_174.zip

Not many changes, but, Pony support is in. It's not entirely completed yet, as we're in the process of re-designing the "parts" to be more modular.

I also fixed a few tiny bugs, as well as two MAJOR bugs (paint bucket/color picker were swapping G and B value, as well as a render bug that caused paint bucket to crash).

The new color wheel isn't in this version, but it will be in the next beta.

As always, follow our Facebook page for more news:

Is there a way to download it without the link? Because my adware blocker is unable to be turned off and I cannot access the website as a result!

Thank you! ~Kasy

Hi. I've been trying to get the higher resolution option into a skin I can use on Minecraft. Can anyone tell me how?

Ever since I updated to 1.6, the cursor hasn't been mapping properly when i attempt to edit a skin that's had its resolution increased. I'll move to draw on the chest and the pixels on the face are getting changed, or I'll try to color on the arm and the whitespace over the leg is getting colored.
Is there an older version available so I can get back to making my HD skins, or is there a way to make the mapping be right under the cursor like before?

Does the latest version work? Does it only break with high resolution? I didn't test with high/low so maybe that's why.

The latest version works, but it only breaks with a high resolution skin. As soon as I increase the resolution, the pixel i go to color is offset by a fairly large amount. I tried to give an example here;

Hi there! MCSkin3D told me there was a new update. I downloaded the latest version and extracted my files but when I opened the folder, Norton Security kept deleting MCSkin3D saying it was unsafe. Is there anyway this can be resolved? Usually there will be a pop-up saying only a few people have used this software and it might be unsafe which usually comes with a choice to run the app anyway but at the moment this is not the case. If you read this, thank you very much for your time. c:

Hey, that's odd.. I wonder if it's just because it's a new executable that hasn't been around for very long so it's blocking it in the off chance that it's malicious. I'll have to see what I can dig up on this.

For me it said that it was new and there was a chance that it could be unsafe but it's all good XD
Norton is just extra careful seeing as it blocked clone wars adventures... And youtube... It blocked youtube once

There's two ways to upgrade; if you are using 1.5 or below, I recommend you extract to a new place and move over your Skins folder manually. If you're using 1.6 or above, you can simply extract the new version into your old folder and overwrite everything.
Edit Reply Delete
You can transfer them by going into the last versions files and copying the skins from there into the new versions files

Did you do anything specific to trigger this? I think the only way to cause this might be to delete a skin's .png while the program is running.
Edit Reply Delete
All I did was change a skin to the 1.8 model and imported a few skins, then restarted the program.

Interesting. If you can reproduce it consistently let me know the steps and I'll get to fixing it ASAP

I actually like your last update way more "1.6.0.500" only because the stance was more unique since the the arms actually where held out a bit allowing me to see the inner arms without having to turn off the chest every time when viewing in 3D mode. Would it be possible to make it an option for different stances in the future? I'll keep using this verison for now.

Thanks for keeping the program alive!

The last version had an extremely terrible bug for 3d drawing (rotated bits, like the top of arms, wouldn't work properly) that requires a fix. If you use 3d drawing at all you'll have to update to get that to work.

You can copy the model from the old version if you want, but I feel like the angle it was at will mess with people more than anything. It was just a byproduct of the import from Minecraft's source.

Okay thanks, that was really easy to switch over. I am not entirely sure what the problem was because I draw in both 2D and 3D view depending on what I am drawing and I had no problems. My latest skin with the .500 version worked fine and those who have downloaded it so far haven't said anything.

Was the problem a visual bug when drawing the skin some users were getting? I only use the darken/light tool, colour wheel, and the fill in tool. The rest I draw pixel by pixel. What ever the bug was I never even noticed because it wasn't big enough to stop me.

At the very least you fixed it so that is great news!

Any face that was rotated churned out wrong coordinates when drawing. It's easy to see if you try to paint on the top or bottom faces of the hands/arms in the full Steve/Alex model (the Minimal models worked fine). It also affected most other models, but I only really tested drawing on the front so it slipped by my Q/A.

I implemented a more robust system for translating mouse coordinates to texture coordinates, so it should be foolproof now.

Ah okay that makes way mor sense, I rarily ever make 1.8 skins I stick to universal so anyone on any version of minecraft can use my skins.

Yep, and that was my downfall: I tested painting on the sample skins, which are all the older "universal" skin format.

it was the problem I got, with the top of the arms you had to draw up to go left/right and to go up you had to go right.

I'm aware that you can add custom Techne models, and you do have the ability to change the resolution.

what have you done to the pixels on the arms ;-; the arms are so difficult to even create anymore. To color upwards you have to go sideways on top of the arm and to go sideways you have to go up, It is so confusing.

Does it only happen on the Steve/Alex skins? Many people have downloaded so far and this is the first I'm hearing of this.

EDIT: Alright I see it now, I'll get a patch ready ASAP.

I have to patch it, yeah. It'll be up very soon.
You can make a shortcut (right-click mcskin3d.exe, Send To < Desktop).

I uploaded 1.6.0.600, give it a try. I'm pretty sure I fixed it.

I opened the winrar folder of the new patch, right clicked the .exe of mcskin3d, clicked extract to specified folder and clicked desktop. It went to my desktop but when I clicked it, it popped up with an error and the error was:
