Not many changes, but, Pony support is in. It's not entirely completed yet, as we're in the process of re-designing the "parts" to be more modular.

I also fixed a few tiny bugs, as well as two MAJOR bugs (paint bucket/color picker were swapping G and B value, as well as a render bug that caused paint bucket to crash).

The new color wheel isn't in this version, but it will be in the next beta.

Paril, ok heres a simpler improvement, can u make it so in swatches you can simply highlight/bookmark a selected colour, and that colour in the swatch (not on the skin) is surrounded permanantly by a little yellow line, until you choose to remove it :D

Thanks Paril! I've been using this as soon as saw the Life On The High Seas skin comp! I used it to make my pirate and it worked great! It is easier to use the 2D view but thats what i'm used to I guess. I'm making my friends skin (He's no on PMC) and it looks heaps cool! If he lets me i will send it to you! Thanks for making the best entity editing tool ever! XD

I know it updated to 1.8,and I wanted to update my skin to that so I opened up this and put my skin into the editor,but I can only get the 'hat' or 'helmet' view of the skin,not the chest armor,leg armor or arm armor. Please help someone! I really need to know how to fix this because I need to add some armor!

Umm, any suggestions on what went wrong? I fetched my skin from Minecraft and then set the modle to Human (1.8) then "Cropped" and then it amputated his Left Arm and Leg. Any help?

just go to 2d mode, then go make your left leg and arm where the label is, remember 1.8 is letting you make arms and legs not mirror images so you have to make your legs and arms

Ehh paril...Little thing needs to be changed, The 1.8 skins are very tall so hybrid needs to instead of being 1 above another. be 1 beside another...or a switch around option for those 2 ways...because i cant see all of my 1.8 template in detail in hybrid, and i only use hybrid view, i like the see the changes in realtime, but painting onto the 3d is to complexicated

but that generally doubles the amount of time i have to spend on a skin, to constantly zoom and drag about...
Anyway, im sure its not to major of a change to fix...and just release it with the next update then?

I don't have time to work on it these days. I release minor fixes but that's about it. Supporting a different split screen isn't as easy as you think since it is hardcoded to function the way it is.

Actually if you dont do a major update u counteract 1 reason for making it, because alot of skinners dont have new features.

I work on PMC now. PMC is literally my job, MCSkin3D was just something I did for fun two/three years ago.

Yeah, you're right that it wouldn't be too complicated, it's just that I don't use a standard control for the splitting (this was ages ago before I had as good of a grasp of OpenGL that I do now; in hindsight I should have used a standard splitContainer and just used two OpenGL controls with a shared context) and it's done by hand. or the most part, it just consists of editing the halfHeight sections, + the Mouse functions to switch over as well. I'd also need to add a new option (probably a checkbox-based menu in View) which would let you change the orientation/split (2D top 3D bottom, 2D left 3d right, 2d right, 3d left, etc), and the language strings for it.

Ehh, you could just do a box which looks like:

And i dont even understand code like java and stuff and i came up with that simple way to do it 0.0 wow.

Simple way doesn't mean simple implementation. My point is that due to user preference, leaving just the two in there wouldn't suffice (besides, once both are side by side, flipping the two isn't as difficult as getting it set up to begin with).

I am working on something MCSkin3D-related for PMC already, but I can't discuss it.

First take all the files out of the WinRAR thing and put it all into a folder. Then double click the one labeled "MCSkin3D" with the icon that says 3D. Make sure you keep it in the folder, though.

Also how do you work the Stamp tool because I want to try and make my skin a 1.8 skin format (yes I know there is a way to do it but it destroys most of my skin) and I can't find a tutorial or anything on it but I did see this forum post you said how to use it but I tried it and it didn't work. Ahem, when I download the .zip file (I'm a Mac user) I just get a folder. Is this even COMPATIBLE with Mac OSX?

Because it's a Windows program. That's why it's a Windows executable (.exe). I never said it was compatible with Mac OSX.

You may be able to get it running with a Mono/Wine setup, however. Some Linux users have had luck with it.

What is this? I was skinning on an old version of this. Then when I got the new version and the 'pixel' brush for the pencil is really small. When I do get the right size of brush from the old version it is like a paint brush; I can't just click for a pixel, I have to get it in the right allignment. And when I change skins it suddenly goes back to the old pixel brush from my old version. WHY?

Sounds like your skin isn't the proper aspect ratio for the model you're using or you're editing a high resolution skin (that would make the pixel "smaller"). If you're trying to edit 1.8 skins, make sure the model is Human (1.8). You may have also accidentally clicked "Increase Resolution".
