finally, after about a month of work, here it is:
the Abbey of San Galgano, near Chiusdino.
Built in 1200s, it's one of the most important examples of Cistercian gothic architecture in Italy, and it is particular for the fact that it has no roof, due being abandoned by 1700s.
only a few vaults survive. part of the roof was destroyed due to a fire, and materials from the church and monastery were sold due to the economic difficulties the abbey went into, until it was abandoned in 1700s.
it was left abandoned until 1920s, when its cultural and artistic values were rediscovered, and restoration works began to stop the Abbey from deteriorating further.
today, it's one of the most fascinating places of Tuscany.
