Aristotle Ascents is based on the 5 elements proposed by Ancient Greek philosophers: earth, water, fire, wind and void/aether. It is named after Aristotle, the philosopher who proposed the 5th element of aether.
Aristotle ascents stands 120m (blocks) high and is decorated with stained glass and built in an elliptical spiral with coloured walls to portray the ancient elements. The elliptical design allows the void (aether) to be portrayed through the empty gap in the skyscraper. The spiral allows wind to reach higher than the other elements, showing their place in the world compared to each-other.
Several models were made before I started building to allow my self to envision the skyscraper on a smaller scale. I decided on an elongated ring opposed to a spherical one as I felt it would be more unique and would be more visually pleasing. The spiral ascends in steps rather than in a smooth slope to further tie in with ancient Greek beliefs, this time through the gods, who could be reached through a staircase or mountain. WorldEdit was used for some building aspects such as long, long walls which would have taken forever to build. Optifine was also used, but only because I use it with vanilla Minecraft anyway due to the improvements in quality and performance.
Enjoy the build, feel free to download it and give it a diamond to support me during the Skyscraper Project Contest and tell me what you thik about it!
