Chapel Yard - Cambrose

Welcome to Chapel Yard, a neighborhood in Cambrose sitting under the graceful shadow of St. Mary's Church.

When the Normans conquered the island in 1066, they established a large fort which became the town of Cambrose. Now, the tall walls, which rise prominently above the city, serve as a beautiful reminder of the island's rich history. Sitting above the old fort walls is St. Mary's Church, an elegant gothic-revival building constructed in 1836. The church's tall tower is the most prominent figure on the Cambrosian skyline, rising above the entire town. The graveyard just outside the church overlooks the rest of the city, with views of the ocean beyond.

Behind the church sits Chapel Yard proper. A dense mix of shops and residences, this area of the town has a distinct charm. Vicar's Pub is a regular for the locals, but it's lost a bit of favor with the priest. In the courtyard, the Cambrose chapter of the Salvation Army stands alongside Laurence & Co. Architects, one of the older firms in the city. On the western side of the old fort sits a row of colorful townhouses along Castle Street. These beautiful residences have stunning views over the city.

To the east of Chapel Yard sits Chapel Street. This road winds its way up the hill to Market Street, the busiest road in Cambrose. Along Chapel Street, you can find the Maison d'Artiste hotel, a lovely hotel in the heart of the city. Adjacent to the hotel is the Cambrose Wesleyan Church, a lovely building set back from the road.

Cambrose is based on the Cornish town of Penzance, along with a handful of other towns in southwest England.

Chapel Yard and the town of Cambrose are built on the WBCBuilds server.
This is a completely original build. It is a Vanilla Minecraft build apart from the World Edit mod, and the WBCBuilds texture pack, which only makes very subtle changes to vanilla blocks. BSL shaders were used for the pictures. Please do not copy my work without credit :) There is no world download, as these are my builds, and I'd rather just show them off with pictures. Thanks!

Enjoy Chapel Yard!
