Here is the latest installment of my tree pack featurette series. Welcome to the Fairy Forest!
This map features the trees from lentebriesje's Fantasy Tree Repo pack. So if you haven't already, show this pack some love if you like this map!
This map gave my computer a hard time for some reason with the SEUS shaders and ChromaHills texture pack on while taking screenshots in game. I appologize if this made them less appealing in any way.
I started out with a 1kx1k map with an ocean border, letting the game generate the trees and boulders first before I made the significant changes to the map. After the custom terrain was fully generated, I then used MCEdit to convert all the moss stone boulders into glowstone boulders and replaced the default trees with the selected custom trees from lentebriesje's fantasy tree pack. For this map, drawing the terrain was the easiest part.
Although this map was loaded up in 1.8, I can see this map being used in 1.7.10 with the Fairy Mod. I think having the fairies flit about would be a nice added touch for this map. I hope to see the mod get updated to 1.8 soon.
In any case, I hope you like it and you may use this terrain however way you'd like so long as I get credit for the terrain and lentebriesje gets credit for the trees!
I also want to take an extra moment to thank all my subscribers! As of today I hit the 50 subscribers mark - more than I had ever expected to receive.
Your support is very encouraging as I explore the creativity that Minecraft allows - from resource packs, failed skins, the occassional blog, to building projects and now custom terrain. This as been a truly amazing learning and exploratory process in the first year I have been here at PMC and thank you so much for sharing this experience with me!
I do plan to have a special project up for all of you as a thank you, but I don't know how long it will take me to put it together with all the other stuff I have on my to-do list. And to think all this because I wanted to play the game that made my autistic son so talkative. :)
