Welcome to my post! A few days ago, I was on a private server with my friend, and he wanted to play a little defend the village, the game in which you must protect the villagers of a village from zombies. However, the spawn rate was a Little too low for us, so I made a basic redstone device that automatically spawns a zombie about every second or so. We had a lot of fun dyeing over and over again. Then, yesterday, I desided to make a souped up version of this. The resulting building was a fun, but challenging mini game based on the zombies AI.

Goal:
Survive as long as you can to get a high score.

Game Play:
The goal of this game is to survive in a limited area as swarms of your choice of mobs attack you. However, you do have a few pluses on your side. You are allowed to build in a small pre-lit area marked by redstone lamps, and also you have a small back out zone.

Scoring:
The game is scored by stopwatch. The higher your time, the better you score. However, you can just retreat into your back out zone and wait for points. If you enter the back out zone, your timer must be stopped. Also, time spent building stops your timer too. However, just standing there doesn't stop it at all.

The Build Zone:
The build zone is a small space to build a small HQ or something else to aid you in your survival. Unfortunately, your only building material is sand, so that means no roofs or windows, and you must have at least one way to get to you at all times, so no boxing yourself in! However, you do get a crafting table, so you can make TNT if you kill enough creepers. Also, this is the only place you can build and break blocks.

The Drop Out Zone:
If you are low on health, come to the drop out zone! This is a great place to break from ruthlessly slaughtering mobs. However, with great pleasure comes great price. Any time spent in here is not counted for your final score. Also, you can't hurt any demonic monsters who arrive at your door. This causes a steady build up of beasts, and eventually, you can't open your door without dieing. Just FYI, the Back Out Zone is made of Mossy Stone Brick and has glowstone in the middle.

Freeplay Mode:
In Freeplay Mode, you use a very striped down version of the game consisting only of the enclosed redstoning, mob selection unit, and the spawner. In this mode, the schematic file is imported to your world or a new one and you battle waves of mobs without score or anything like that. An advantage to this mode is that you can make use of the terrain, climbing trees, swimming, etc.

Tips:
  • If you are able to craft TNT, this can be used to fend off hostile mobs, and build a roof.
  • If you rain arrows down on the incoming mobs from the builds zone, less will be able to reach you in direct combat.
  • Sandstone makes a stylish roofing!
  • If you have a roof, you can shoot mobs without having to fear being blown up.
  • If you don't enable creepers, it is more costly to build roofs.
  • Blocks from creeper explosions can be used.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article or even download it. It means a lot to me. However, if you download or replicate this project and then make it public in some way (like using it on a server, Youtube video or forum post), please credit me, or link to this page. Even if you change the basic design, please hint at the fact I made the original version. It took me a long time to make this and I wouldn't like it if someone took it. Again, thank you.

Additional Notes

This is a fun and compact tower defense for you to play!
