Middle Earth: Beleriand #ConquestReforged

Beleriand
was the region of north-western Middle-earth during the First Age. Originally, the name belonged only to the area around the Bay of Balar, but in time the name was applied to the entire land.


In the First Age, Beleriand was among the westernmost lands of Middle-earth. Beleriand had a long western shoreline with the Great Sea Belegaer, including the Bay of Balar in its south-west. The Ered Luin (Blue Mountains) formed the eastern border of Beleriand, separating it from Eriador. To the south, Beleriand was bound by the Great Gulf. North of Beleriand were the highland regions of Hithlum, Dorthonion, and Lothlann.


The River Sirion, the chief river of Beleriand, running north to south, divided it into West Beleriand and East Beleriand. Crossing it east to west was a series of hills and a sudden drop in elevation known as Andram, the Long Wall. To the east of the Long Wall, was the River Gelion and its six tributaries draining the Ered Luin, in Ossiriand or the Land of Seven Rivers.


By F.A. 587 (The end of the First Age), Beleriand was mostly destroyed and submerged under the sea from the War of Wrath of the Valar against Morgoth. Only a small section of East Beleriand remained, and was known as Lindon.

This project aims to recreate Beleriand and its realms with the aid of the Conquest Reforged mod.
However in its early state the amount of Conquest Reforged that is utilized is limited.

The current map size is 12000 x 12000 blocks! with a worldfile of 2,5Gb

Storyline:
Manwe asked Mandos for what would happen if they were to leave Morgoth in Middle-Earth.
Mandos revealed what would happen, but manwe was unsure.

When Morgoth broke the siege of Angband the Dagor Bragolach began and the free people's fled before him.
Fingolfin the High King of the Elves dueled Morgoth personally and was slain and with it most hope was lost.

Soon after Dorthonion was under heavy attack aswell as Hithlum. And in the east the sons of Feanor were forced to flee for the Dragon Glaurung had come, only Himring remained of the Northern Fortresses.

Maedhros the eldest son of the late Feanor wishes to drive Morgoths forces back. To do so he needs a large host and many allies. And so he began to prepare an assault upon Angband.

But Mandos forsaw that this assault would end up being the Nirnaeth Arnoediad and so he once again came to Manwe.
Seeing what had happend he wished to help the free peoples get rid of Morgoth so that the Nirnaeth Arnoediad can be prevented. And this is were you the player come in.

Join the people's of Beleriand right after the beginning of the Dagor Bragolach, as one of the Edain and fight your way to glory amoung the free people's (or fall from glory and join Morgoth in taking Beleriand as one of his highest ranking servants.). Craft equipment, brew potions or build a mighty fortress to withstand Morgoths forces.

Feature's of the ''Adventure'' Map
  • Join a faction and fight for their Glory, you can even join the Orcs!
      Not all factions are on good term's, joining one faction might have consequenses
      You can even gather a small army to help you fight your enemies.

  • Follow the Main Questline or go your own way and take up Side-Quests.

  • Travel through many villages and city's to find important NPC's and of course Traders
      Armor & Weapons can only be forged by Blacksmith's

  • Explore the Many dungeons and fight the many bosses
      Bosses are mainly servants of Morgoth, joining Morgoth will remove a large amount of Bosses

  • New weapon Mechanics / Ability's
      All weapons now have a standard ability, you are for example able to parry with a sword
      Weapons can also be forged with special abilitys to further increase your might

  • Find many new building blocks
      With the Conquest reforged mod you'll be able to build with a lot of new blocks.

  • Fasttravel
      Throughout your journy you'll find ''Bonfire's'' wich act as Fasttravel points once you find them.

Update Schedule

Phase 1 (In progress 50%, Late 2019/Early 2020)
-All main races will be introduced including:
Dwarves, Teleri, Noldor, Edain, Orcs and various animals including ents

-Lesser races will partially be introduced
For the time being including Petty Dwarves, Bandits and Feanorians

-The main-questline will be finished
There will be side-quests, but not to many

-Most major city's and towns will be implemented
This includes all locations on the map with the exception of Barad Eicthel

-Many merchants, information NPC's and blacksmiths will be added
More NPC's will be added in later Phases with new side-quests.

-The first major dungeons will be added with unique bosses

Phase 2 (Mid 2020)

-Many more side-quests (& NPC's) will be added for all races
This includes the orcs and other evil races

-Orc faction will now be joinable with its own main questline
You can now join Morgoths army and help him rule Beleriand

-Army building
You will be able to buy soldiers that follow you into battle

-Many new dungeons will be added
These dungeons are all optional for the story

-Blacksmiths will be more numerous
On top of that they will also be able to craft higher quality equipment

-Alternative ending (What would happen if Morgoth won the War)
A frozen wasteland in eternal darkness with only life possible the thick layers of snow
The surface, and its building have all been lost.
This area has 3 bosses including diffrent versions of Morgoth and Gothmog to match the cold theme

-Extra terraforming

Phase 3 (mid/Late 2020)

-New villages
Smaller villages with new NPC's and merchants

-Druedain Faction

-Even more side-Quests

Right after the battle of the sudden flame Caranthir's keep was besieged.
Will you help the defenders? or take out Caranthir himself.

Gondolin & Eglarest are now inhabited by elves.
Merchants and Blacksmiths can also be found here.

The pits of Angband have been made (A Custom Nether 2000x2000)

Hello! I was just wondering if this is on hold as it is near mid 2020 and it doesn't look like it's hit phase 1 or 2.

As long as credit is given towards the Author of these buildings, yes.
I Did however change most builds, but that still doesn't make them my own builds.

Had you also thought about adding the lord of the rings mod to your modpack? And if so why did you not?

I thought about it, but that would mean downgrading to 1.7.10 which is something i didn't want to do since it is too outdated.

On top of that, i wanted to make a world with the Conquest Reforged mod, and the lotr mod doesn't match that theme at all.

The modded experience is however still largely inspired by the LotR mod, with my own additions (Weapon/armor forging & Questline)

That makes sense.

I hope Mevans will update the mod to 1.15 since it will (from what i have heard) make modding easier, but i doubt it.

A newer version would be great, but i doubt it.

It'll take me a while but the first downloadable version will drop in either December or Januari
