Star Trek: Barracuda Class Heavy Star Cruiser

This is the Barracuda class Starship, a col-lab project between me and Airadan. The ship features a Duel red stone warp core and numerous other features, best left for you to discover on it's release.

The ship has 4 nacelles similar to the Constellation class, but the ship mostly takes inspiration from the Soyuz class and excelsior class. The ship is a Light Cruiser, but that does not make it in the slightest bit weaker than anything else out there as the ship is armed to the teeth with 4 torpedo launcher bays, 10 phasers banks so far and a sleek front mounted deflector reminiscent of NX-01.

The bridge features an incredible red alert system that is so far unmatched on any other ship's I've seen out there, so that should be pretty fun to play with on release :)

I've updated the project with the star blocks intro credits, now with updated the 'cuda instead of the intrepid. Also, progress has came along pretty well on the ship and the machinima it'l be in. I can confirm this WILL be the ship in star blocks used as the USS Relief. Also if you want to check out the new warp animation (using rain) you can find that on jerrahs channel.

Good news, the ship is nearing completion, we have all the decks laid out and we're currently ironing out the creases, dotting the i's and crossing the t's that we left out.
The ship itself has came a long way from where it was and i'm sure this time it'l be out within a fortnight if program keeps up!

The ship is approaching launch, hopefully within a week or two the ship will be out. A short list of what currently needs sorted:

Placement of easter...
Placement of lighting
filling anything we missed out
find out where deck 6 went after it mysteriously disappeared
jettison tribbles
have chicken sandwich and coffee
scrub exhaust manifold
find spocks brain
find more relevant stuff for this to do lists

We've now just about finished all the engineering stuff, like the Vulcan death chamber from wrath of khan (aka the plasma conduit). Impulse engines are now connected to stuff, the cargo bays have been started also.

OK the big reveal, this ship has WORKING escape pods! the pods launch from the bottom floor and when launched turn off a light signifying that the escape pod slot is now empty (basically, if the lights off and you open the door, breathing may become difficult).

ok, quick vote for anybody who is looking. What type of ship is the barracuda? a cruiser, a destroyer, a corvette, a heavy cruiser, a light cruiser or a frigate, personally i'm edging towards destroyer because it's better than a Miranda class but not as good as an excelsior class size wise.

size isn't everything. Often times a well armed escort can pwn a good sized cruiser, so yes this would make a good destroyer

hopefully we'l release it this month if our other, larger, project doesn't get in the way. I won't say what the larger project is, but i will say i tried it before and failed and that it'l probably have more things than the cuda.

I'd advise the bridge for the capture point too, there are two entrances and a lift to it nearby from most of the decks. If you were to arrive from the airlocks on the side of the disk, you'd have quite a bit to go if you wanted to get to the bridge, i figure it'd be best to cut some of the corridors off if you were to play that sort of thing on the ship just to make it harder to get there but easier to navigate :)

this one was actually designed by me lol, but i agree, it's good to see any trek ship out there. Also i too grew up with it, so that's all good, the first thing from trek i remember is first contact and Nemesis.... ironically that was the end of TNG, but I've watched most of the star trek stuff out there, except DS9 which is somehow not on TV where i live at the moment:(

then your in luck, airadan is working on the opening credits as we speak, i mean it'l probably not show any characters, but it'l have music and the ship etc.

Also, we plan to near exclusively use your skins for Star blocks, so your gonna definantly see more of your skins in our videos in the future :)

Just a quick comment about excelsior for anybody who is wanting to know what happened to it. 


Recently my ship building skills have improved a lot, also seeing as there's now room to work with a properly laid out excelsior (2 thick decks instead of 1 thick). I have decided to restart it COMPLETELY, the old one just isn't up to the mark, so expect to see a NEW and IMPROVED excelsior coming to PMC when it's closer to being finished, so far i've connected a rough disk and secondary hull from jroyer together, but nothing much else.

also on another note, i'm gonna change the classification of the 'cuda to Heavy Star Cruiser rather than light cruiser, mainly because it's too heavily armed to be light, and it sounds WAY better :)
