**********PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION**********

THE MODPACK IS INCLUDED IN THE WORLD DOWNLOAD

DRAGON MOUNTS MOD HAS ALSO BEEN ADDED TO THE MODPACK- FLY YOUR OWN TAMABLE DRAGONS!

Welcome to Thyruul!

Based very heavily on Skyrim, Thyruul revisits the game with an exciting twist; everything is built upon hundreds of floating islands! With the use of only a handful of mods (included in the world download), Thyruul gives you an exciting playground to change to your liking through your own actions; with some very advanced use of the Custom NPCs mod, Thyruul allows players to change their standing with over 30 factions in the Thyruul universe, through many amazing quests, which will take you through populated cities, to the heart of an active Sky-Volcano. Although it is still in the very early stages of development, over 20 islands are currently in-game, with even more quests than the number of islands. There are currently around 50 interactive NPCs in the game world, who are available for the player to have lengthy conversations with, provided that they have my modpack installed. The early preview release of my adventure map will be available in a few days, but please take your time to have a quick look through the photos, and tell me what you think!

Background, And Storyline:

In Thyruul, the horrors of the Black War are still fresh in everyone's mind. Although the forces of Lord Altsimier were defeated for a second time, just over five years ago, there are still many problems in Thyruul. The Thyrite Leaders have a rebellion on their hands, the Imperial Legion is facing destruction from within, and even the Divines are taking an interest in mortal affairs.
You assume the role of a Thyrite. Not a warrior. Not a leader. But a meadery owner. Aside from your meadery being the most famous in the entire Kingdom, you are not a hero. But will you let this be your destiny? Or will you take your fate into your own hands, and be capable of wielding great power? It is up to you, for this is Thyruul, where anything is possible.
After going away for a while, you find yourself back at your meadery, with all of your memories of the last few weeks destroyed. Dazed, and confused, you discover that you have suffered poisoning. With somebody after you, will you be able to discover who is trying to kill you, and end their life by your hand?
Or, will you complete things in your own way? Will you carry on with your life, and continue brewing mead to make a living? Will you become a thief, and steal to make your money? Or will you get by as a dark assassin, serving the Lord Of Death, Ensis, in his dark order?
And that is the beauty of Thyruul; YOU make all of the decisions. You choose how the story plays out. And YOUR choices affect the world around you. Thyruul is an ever-changing playground, ready to change as you desire.

Features Of Thyruul:
  • Thyruul takes a new look on adventure map gaming, and recreates the experience through interactive dialogues, factions which respond to your every move, and a huge variety of quests, with regular updates to add much more content.
  • Change your reputation among the various factions of the world, with different provinces responding to the player in different ways.
  • Travel between the beautiful, awe-inspiring floating islands of Thyruul by amazing bridges, and travel the world to see it's amazing natural beauty.
  • Interactive NPCs, with their own dialogues, for the player to accept quests from, or just learn about the latest news, and rumors.
  • Craft your own alcoholic drinks, and sell them for profit; with a planned collection of over 100 types of drinks to brew (currently around 20 in-game), you can travel around Thyruul, and discover new recipes for brewing mead, wine, and other interesting concoctions.
  • Make use of the advanced currency system, to buy over 50 new ingredients around the game world, and use them to create new types of food, or brew new drinks from them.
  • A *WORKING* hunting system; kill dangerous animals, and collect their rare, and unusual meats, and cook them to heal yourself.
  • Many more updates to come- this is only the first ever release!

Additional Notes

IT'S HERE! IT'S FINALLY HERE!

Hi again, everyone! You have no idea how glad I am to be writing this! I have been working non-stop for the past two weeks, just to get a preview release of Thyruul ready for release. And now, I am finished... the preview release... which means that I still have much work ahead of me. But, at least that you can finally see what I've been up to!

Please be kind, everyone, as this is only the first ever Pre-Alpha release!

Hope that you love it as much as I have loved making it,

EsvDefcon.

Hello! I realize that this was made some time ago, and as far as I can tell it hasn't updated in a while, but I'd still like to write a little review-type thing about it- For future projects, or if you decide to update this further.
So.

I really like the concept-  The style of the houses, the names of the characters (Though for the life of me I couldn't remember and/or pronounce any of them,) the story of the quest line (At least the one that I ran in to, I'm not sure if there are others,) and the general idea of it. However.
I found it to be riddled with flaws.

First, in order to install and use it, on the new version of Minecraft, and with the new launcher... It took me about an hour of fiddling and configuring- And I still don't think I had the entire modpack. Was Bibliocraft supposed to be installed? I didn't see anything in the folder about Bibliocraft. Personally, I don't like Skydaz, and also it was broken, so I couldn't actually use that. I installed LittleBlocks, CustomNPCs, and RPG Inventory manually, though I'm not convinced it worked.
Anyway. So I finally get everything (Mostly) working, I log on... And I'm in creative mode, not at spawn, with an inventory full of items, and no access to commands. Of course, it didn't take me long to figure out how to fix that, but still. Not something that you want people to have to do with your adventure map.
Because of that, you can understand my first impressions not being great. However, I still wanted to play through the map.
So I start myself off at the Meadery NPC. Getting started on my first quest, I get lost on my way to the Doctor. Not your fault there, I have a terrible sense of direction. I speak with the doctor, and I'm intrigued about this 'Blacksoul Poisoning.' I take his antidote, and I walk back to the Meadery. About halfway through I realize that I still have my 'To the Doctor!' quest, so I go back to the doctor and turn it in. Returning to the meadery, I take the 'Assassins? Assassins!' quest from the Meadery NPC. I try to find the Innkeeper, and get horrifically lost again. (Again- Not your fault, though I could have had clearer instructions.) Once I find him, I get lost going to the back room, find it, and speak with the Assasin. I then become frustrated at not being able to find the next Assassin, and I end up having to cheat to find him. 'He's in the shipyard' isn't a very helpful instruction when you have no idea that there is a shipyard, or where said shipyard is. Also, I think it may have been helpful to have more frequent quests- A quest to go speak to each NPC, and then they give you a quest to go to the next. Information from my Meadery NPC is no longer helpful when trying to find the shipyard, and even less so when looking for a trapdoor in an unspecified forest that is 'near the Jarl's palace.' Again, not the most helpful instructions. For most of the quests I did, I had to fly around with an NPC wand and tp to the proper NPC- That is, if I could remember their names. Eventually I found the shipyard and the guild house, but after I took the oath at the Altar, I was absolutely clueless as to what to do next. Quest log? Nothing. Search for 'Questmaster'? Nothing.  Use NPC wand to look for 'questmaster?' Nothing. I think it might be helpful to have, as I said, more frequent quests with the most up-to-date information on what your current goal is.
On a completely different note, I noticed a lot of NPC's with really great names and absolutely no purpose whatsoever. It seems as if you had placed them, named them, skinned them, and then forgot about them. No dialog, no lines other than the default. Also, many of the shopkeepers had blank trades- I don't know if this was a mod flaw, if the NPC's were unfinished, or if there was some other error, but that's... not the best thing.
The builds were good, but not spectacular- In general, I thought that the walls were too blank, (I like to have lots of texture when building things,) and there wasn't enough material variation. It was almost entirely oak wood- Maybe if you do ever come back to this, fly around and change up some of the woods to be jungle, spruce, etc. Personally, I prefer Spruce wood for a lot of things. Also, maybe make the log ribbing on most of the buildings extend from the wall a little? I think that would add some much-needed texture.

All in all, in its present state, I would rate this map at 2.5 stars. However, there's a huge potential for it- If you continue to develop and improve it, it could easily become hugely immersive and enjoyable to play. I hope that you see this as constructive criticism, and not just hate- Because it's intended to be the first, and most definitely not intended to be the latter. Don't get the wrong vibe from this- I want to give helpful feedback on how this could be improved, should you wish to do so.
Thanks for giving me something to think about! :)

Sorry, I've just realised that the installers are for 1.5.2, and some of them aren't available yet for 1.6.2. I'll have to update the mods myself, then I'll update the modpack. Sorry about that :(
