Thirteen years ago, the starcruiser "Mars' Revenge" was left drifting in the space near Betelguese 37-A when reactor 19 had a meltdown, causing numbers 3-22 to do the same, due to a lack of power to shut it off. This ship was carrying the largest library of data in the known universe, and the data it was carrying was essential to the operation of the stargates that where being built. Two rescue ships where sent, but the electronics on both of them were fried by the high beta and gamma particle emission coming from the cruiser. After seventy-three deaths and thirteen long years, they had a solution. Send a small shuttle over near the ship, and have Faulkner, their newest intern, go out in a bedrock clad suit to go and retrieve the data. They teased him with offering to hire him. They even offered to give him a raise if he stayed with the company for a while. He finally decided that the thought of a job was better than none at all, so he strapped up into his radiation-proof suit and flew out to the crippled ship.
Upon arrival it seemed something was not quite right. There were multiple holes in the hull and a dim blue light coming from the remaining reactors. Faulkner slipped in through an open landing bay, and continued floating through the ship, since the gravity was off. He went to the library, and retrieved the information and put it on his quantum memory stick, according to plan. Faulkner decided that he wanted to check how the reactors were doing, since they should have exhausted their fissile material by now, and they were still emitting cherenkov radiation. He reached the part of the ship where the reactors where housed and he started to feel sick. Lo and behold, the remaining reactors had gone hypercritical, along with the majority of the supply of Thorium on the ship.
He knew he needed to get out fast, because he was wearing the highest grade of protection and he was still feeling ill. He looked over at the control panel and saw that there were still a few options to minimize the amount of radiation . He pressed what he thought to be the button to jettison the reactors, but he accidentally poured more of the Thorium 232 into the containment chambers. He knew he could die He could die, but he remained calm as he jetpacked around , trying to find the exit. At last, he saw the way he came in, but he knew he still had to hurry for the reactors could explode with many times the power of an equivalent ton of TNT. He flew right on over to his shuttle which was parked in a similar orbit and flew away with a cliche explosion coming from the ship.
Upon returning to the HQ, everyone payed him no attention and he simply returned into his cubicle, never to be seen again

Some people say he still works there, some even say he lives there. To this day, nobody truly knows where Faulkner went.
