This is a "vintage kimono" as I've learned to know them at ichiroya.com. They have often longer sleeves as was customary pre WWII, the motif is often more traditional and as I've noticed, they are often for shorter people than I am :/ This kimono in particular could perhaps be categorized as a komon (casual everyday wear) because the motif is repetitive, although vintage kimono are easily prettier than newer komon.

This kimono-obi combination I made for April. The color combination I've used is called "sakuramoegi" (literally: cherry blossom green) and it is good for spring (https://wafuku.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/japanese-colour-names-seasonal-combinations/), presumably when the sakura trees get their leaves. The pattern on the kimono features tatewaku (steam rising from ponds and marshes in the spring warmth, http://www.immortalgeisha.com/wiki/index.php?title=Tatewaku) and chou (buttefly). The fukuro obi is wrapped in a simple otaiko musubi. Nagoya obi was invented in the 1920s so it could be used as well but I went for an older alternative. The obi features shiki no hanabana (四季の花々, four season flowers), a motif often used on fukuro obi.

The hair is done in the traditional shimada hairstyle and the kanzashi include a tsumami-style buttefly and blossoms, and a tama-style ball or orb.

The collar is folded with the left side overlapping the right (as it should), an additional date eri is added to bring out the collar area and the back of the collar is pulled down to reveal the nape of the neck. I've also made a faint line under the obi to indicate an ohashori fold and there is a disruption of the motif that the fold would result in. White tabi (socks) and zori (sandals) are used as footwear.

Kimonos are a hobby of mine and I hope I've gotten most of the details right! ^___^
