So I have killed the Ender-Dragon twice in my time and I felt the need to post a blog on things you'll need. You may have seen a similar checklist by gilly_name_pie on the forums, but that checklist was actually made by me, on my friends account ages ago. So let's get to it!
1) You need full diamond kit and a diamond sword, no biggy
2) A bow. Preferably with the infinity enchantment
3) A couple stacks of ladders for climbing up those big obsidian pillars
4) A pumpkin, weird right? Well, there is a lot of endermen there, I also recommend getting a texture pack so you can see through the pumpkin better
5) Food. Obvious one
6) Lastly, you need some skill, and that's about it!

1. Iron armor, enchanted with Protection IV, Unbreaking III and Thorns II/III. Boots have Feather Falling IV
2. A Totem of Undying
3. A diamond sword, enchanted with Sharpness V, Looting III and Fire Aspect II; Looting is needed for getting more enderpearls to teleport
4. A bow enchanted with Power V, Unbreaking III and Infinity + 1 arrow
5. A diamond pickaxe, enchanted with Silk Touch (though not necessary) and Efficiency IV/V
6. 2 stacks of steak, cooked porkchops or bread
7. 2 Slow Falling potions; preferably with a longer duration
8. A splash potion of Strength; preferably Strength II and longer duration
9. A splash potion of Swiftness; preferably Speed II and longer duration
10. 10-14 golden apples
11. 1-2 enchanted golden apples
12. Half a stack of torches, for collecting the dragon egg and marking the pillars on which you took down the crystals
13. A water bucket for damaging endermen and climbing up pillars
14. A stack of glass bottles for collecting the dragon's breath
15. 3 stacks of cobblestone
16. 3 stacks of enderpearls
17. 1 carved pumpkin
18. 1-8 beds
