FOREWORD:
Hello, and welcome to Clock Work. This story is told in first-person from different points of view. The first point of view is Akkore, a boy who works in the Clock Work. The Clock Work is what the world is reduced to after a nuclear war. There is no more technology and everything is just gears and other machines. In the Clock Work, you go to work at a young age of 8, as either a Designer or a Mechanic. Akkore is a Mechanic. In an accident covered up by the government, he lost an eye and was declared legally blind. He may never see correctly again...
Anyways, tell me if you want me to make more chapters. I'll make 2 chapters first, then I will check the response and if I get a good enough response I'll make more.

CHAPTER 1: The Works Akkore

I wake up, and I can see. No- not me. Someone else. Someone else who is screaming and yelling "I can see! I can..." Their voice falters as they realize something. "It's not me," she says. I see her faint and I'm thrust back into the blur. The blur of colors allows me to work, especially since my sector started color-coding the gears and pipes.
I've been at work since I was 8. I'm 12 now, able to see the world... well, almost see. I grab my wrench and leave my pod. This sector, sector 57, is one of the most dangerous, mainly because there is a place way up high where there is a crack leading to the surface. That's actually one of the factors leading to the loss of my eye- a pipe was radiated off and fell into my eye. Luckily I was working on a water main by the hospital, but if I wasn't... I'd be dead and gone by now. I walk onto the walkway and get to the Designing Office to see what they have for me. The walkway by my pod has a crack in it from the radiation. I work on that a little every day, but today it grew. I knew soon I'd step out and die, deep in the abyss. I keep walking.
When I get to the Office they already have a job for me on the door. It's another elevator. They always send me simple stuff now, elevators and new gears. Nope, I think. Not today. I want to work on a new walkway. I walk back to my pod. I don't notice the second crack, making the walkway even less stable.
SNAP! PING!
My screams drown out the thud.

CHAPTER 2: The Office Amerrite

I woke up in some sort of pod. Bad living quarters meant for the Mechanics, I know, but at least I see in detail. "I can see! I can..." But it wasn't me. I knew it. "It's not me..." I"m so confused, I faint. I woke up again in the sea of colors. I can still do blueprints because of the magnifier, but it's difficult. I walked to my desk as I hear sirens passing by.
"What...?" I asked nobody in particular. "Somebody fell," says a boy next to me. "Why do you have an eyepatch?"
"My eye went blind. My sight was already messed up." I reply, slightly annoyed.
"Mine got stabbed by a pipe."
