I was sick of chickens. This was the forth time this week that Summer had escaped from her pen, and it was always my job to catch her. That wouldn't be too big of a deal... if we didn't live right next to a jungle. There are many cats and ocelots in the jungle, every last one wanting a taste of plump bird. Unfailingly, Summer would always go straight to the jungle instead of toward the town square. Luckily for me it had rained last night, so she left clear tracks. Unfortunately, it also meant I was miserably wet. I brushed aside some of the heavy jungle leaves in my path, and almost missed it when the tracks doubled back. I looked that way, and there she was. Sitting there. Mocking me. I crept closer, then lunged at her. She pecked and scratched, but no dice. I had her, and wasn't about to let her go. I put her in the carrier I made just for the occasion, then chugged them potion of healing I knew I would need. As I did so, a huge crashing, scraping noise erupted from my village. I rushed back as quickly as I could, then gasped and jumped back. The whole village was being ravaged by undead! At their head was a pale skinned human with white hair and glowing red eyes. He was a magic user, as was evident by the glowing balls of soul-blue fire he threw at the houses. I watched in absolute horror as all I knew was destroyed. I couldn't do anything to stop it, and I knew it. If I wanted to avenge the destruction of my village, and I most certainly did, I would need to bide my time and collect information. I crept closer to where the Necromancer was, as he was communicating with one of his skeletons. Strangely, this skeleton was dressed as a jester. I started to hear them speak as I approached them.
"Good job Bartleby. You know what to do from here." I heard a raspy laugh, and the skeleton he had called Bartleby responded.
"Yes, Master Eldrick. Mine the gems, transport them to you up north." I shuddered at the raspy, scratchy voice. If this ... Necromancer was using skeletons, I couldn't do anything. They were basically immune to almost everything. I could use fire, but I didn't have any at the moment. Then something struck me. There was a cave nearby... Maybe it had a bit of lava.
"Yes, Bartleby. I will be leaving now." With that, the Necromancer vanished in a puff of light blue smoke.
I rushed over to the cave, being careful not to be seen or heard. I still had a bucket of milk from my chores earlier, hopefully that could hold the molten rock. I chug the milk to keep my strength up, as well as to empty the bucket. The cave was about five minutes away, and I was counting on being able to get there before they destroyed everything. As I ran, I made a note of what the skeleton had said. Up north... The closest town to the north was Darkreach. I would go there after I killed any skeletons left behind.

A few moments later, I had found what I had been looking for. A bucket of lava was now balanced carefully in my inventory. I crept back to the village, and almost swore at the sight. I never swear, so this was truly awful. The village had been almost completely destroyed, only a few buildings still standing. There were about five skeletons, including Bartleby. Two of them were archers, while the other two were swordsmen. I shout, rush out, and then double back. This grabs the attention of the skeletons, who rush after me. An arrow pierces my arm, and another hits the tree just behind me. I jump up onto a low branch, then pour the bucket onto them when they pass. They burn to a crisp, leaving nothing but ashes that burn within seconds. I rush back to the village, where Bartleby still is. He is defenseless, so he rushes away. I don't follow him. Instead, I start looking around the village. No one seems to be alive. Unless they were all captured, I'm the last of us. Holding back a few tears, I start plundering. I will need it more then they will, even if they are alive. I need to buy supplies and other items if I want to kill this evil madman. I start at the remains of my house.
