Level 43 : Master Modder

This tutorial will teach you (if you don't know yet) how to install mods, texture packs, skins and levels(projects).

Part 1 mods.

To install mods, you'll need Winrar (or another archiver program).

Step 1: Search for run and open it.

Step 2: In run, type: %appdata%

Step 3: You'll get to a map called ''Roaming''

Step 4: Double click the ''.minecraft'' folder.

Step 5: Open the bin folder and in there is a minecraft jar file.

Step 6: Look which Mods or API's the mod requires, this is usually said on the main post of the desired mod.

Step 7: Install the required Mods or API's if needed.

Step 8: Now open the downloaded mod, it's a .zip file (or .rar file). To do this you need winrar (or the other archiver)

Step 9: Check if all the files inside it are .class files and folders, if so you need to drag them all in the minecraft.jar (unless the creator of the mod says the .zip file needs to be copied into the .minecraft/mods folder)

Step 10: Before you exit the minecraft.jar make sure you deleted the META-INF folder in the minecraft.jar.

Step 11: If there are folders called ''Place in resources'' or ''place in mods'' you just need to place the content from that folders into the .minecraft/resources or .minecraft/mods folder

Step 12: If there is a folder called ''Place in minecraft folder'' you need to place them in the .minecraft folder itself.

Step 13: Run minecraft, if it normally starts and the mods work you can enjoy it, if minecraft doesn't start make sure you followed every step properly.

Part 2 Texture packs

There are no requirements for installing texture packs.

Step 1: Download the desired texture pack, this will be a .zip or .rar file.

Step 2: Search run and type: %appdata%

Step 3: In the ''Roaming'' map will be a ''.minecraft'' folder, you need to open that one.

Step 4: In the ''.minecraft'' folder will be a folder called ''texture packs''.

Step 5: Just drag the downloaded .zip or .rar file into that folder and you're done!

Part 3 Skins

Winrar or some other archiver software is required to install mods.

Step 1: Download the skin file, this has to be a .png file!

Step 2: Rename it as: char.png

Step 3: Open the minecraft.jar and open the ''mob'' folder.

Step 4: Just drag the char.png into the ''mob'' folder.

Step 5: Enjoy!

Not every Texture pack supports custom skins!

Part 4 Levels(Projects)

This requires some archiver software, like winrar or 7-zip.

Step 1: Download the level you like.

Step 2: This usually is a .zip or .rar file, you need to extract that using winrar or 7-zip (or the archiver you're using)

Step 3: You will get a folder with the name of the level.

Step 4: Go to your ''.minecraft'' folder and double click the ''saves'' folder.

Step 5: Drag or copy the folder of the downloaded .zip or .rar into there.

Step 6: Have fun with it!

This was my tutorial, hope it helped!
