Yes, I know that it's very late to be posting a review of this game, but it never really got the attention that it deserved.



STORY:

You play as detective Cole Phelps. A former U.S. Soldier who fought Japan in World War II. After the war he decided to work for the police. You quickly get promoted and become a detective, solving thecases you are given.








INVESTIGATIONS:


When you are at a crime scene, you have to take a look around to look for any clues that might help guide you to the person who committed the crime. This is fairly easy. When you walk by a clue, your controller will vibrate. You can then press X/A and you will inspect the object. Once your are inspecting it you have to either manipulate or investigate the object further.



INTERROGATIONS:







In the game, you will have to interrogate people to find more about what happened or who the killer is. This is where the clues roll in. You will need them to ask questions and as evidence for when you accuse the person if they are lying.


To figure out whether they are telling the truth or lying, you will you to read their face. If they are moving their eyes around, constantly fidgeting, you know they are lying. If they are staring right at you, they are telling the truth.



CAR HANDLING:






The handling for the cars in the game suits it very well. With a light movement of the analog stick, the car will turn further than you would expect. But this can be very helpful in car chases and when trying to avoid obstacles.



GUNS:



Since your a cop you only get one gun. A pistol of course. And you can't always use it. The only time you get to use guns are in shootouts and when your chasing down criminals that shoot at you. Otherwise you either have to tackle them or fire a warning shot that will make them stop running.


When you are in shootouts, you don't have to stick with your pistol. You can pick up guns that dead enemies drop.




VOICE SYNCHRONIZATION:



You don't have to worry about it being too complicated on how to tell if someone is lying or telling the truth. Rockstar used something new. It's a machine that tracks every movement of the face in order to get the most realistic look and view that will help you determine those things. All the characters look pretty much exactly as they do in real life.
