Mine-imator is awesome! I can create animations at ease! it has many advantages when compared against Blender including:

  • No Need to Form a bunch of cubes to creater an object or character
  • you can easily create a building in Minecrafter itself and convert it to a schematic and import in in Mine-imator!!
  • Very user Friendly. unlike blender, it has the only commands you need to make the animation.
  • Awesome!

If you look closely, you'll see the developer's blog on the mine-imator page. It contains the more up-to-dat non-beta versions with better rendering. I also would like to say that the quality of blender animation all depends upon the animator, NOT the software. If you're good with advanced rigs with added realism, then your animation will turn out amazing, however, if you just follow basic tutorials and download shitty rigs, you'll barely get any quality.

Blender is not a very friendly software, it's hard. Mine-imator is easy, but comparing the 2 is a matter of opinion. If you're a newbie looking to make animations easily, mine-imator is the way to go. Now if you're more pro and looking to make actually good looking animations, blender is just about right. There alternatives to blender like Maya and 3DSMax which are much more user friendly.

You said that you don't have to put cubes together in mine-imator, but that is good that you can put cubes together. You can't make a facial rig in mine-imator, or anything else if it's not a preset, so forget being like some of those extremely popular animators (Slamacow, Mineworks, BlueMonkey, etc.).

It is true that blender and mine-imator are two different software, but lets pretend that blender could only be use for minecraft animations. That puts them at a fair fight. Blender wins automatically. In blender, you get better bends for your characters, and better quality renders. You can import minecraft worlds to blender, or you can also build the world in blender its self. You can also ad facial rigs to you're characters. Now mine-imator is a lot easier to use, but Blender is worth the extra time of animation and rendering.

Well, the only thing is, mine-imator is an animation software made for making minecraft animations. Blender is used to make any animations.

Good points on blender:

1. You can have joints for your character. Unlike in mine-imator.

2. You can make a structure easily with blender, unlike in mine-imator, you have to add a single block the hole step, then use the axis mover to move it.

I use blender, and find it WAY easier to use than Mine-imator. I do have mine-imator, and do not use it. I also am just saying the comment below me by HatsyaSouji.
