In the Minecraft community I have noticed quite a large segregation between different users.

I feel as if Most players are disconnecting themselfs from a concept - Basically breaking yourself up into a group: I'm a Griefer, I am a PvPer etc.

Validating yourself like this can slowly diminish unique players in the Minecraft community, This is because its destroying on what you can become, dedicating your 'Minecraft Life' into PvP Faction servers does not benefit the Towny Peaceful servers for example.

By Identifying yourself as a certain player its never going to change if you hold on to it, your stopping your adaptability. This is because when you say 'I am a PvPer You are  potentially stopping yourself from engaging in different Minecraft server types, Because your telling yourself you cant because 'Your the PvPer.'

This can relate to real life: Lets say you always get a cheeseburger from your local store, now they introduce a new burger and you get annoyed because its another choice you can pick. When you shouldnt be because, well its just another thing to be eaten!

Dont let yourself stop your adaptability, you can change that.

I hope this Article can change how you think about your place and role in the Minecraft community, Thanks!

This article is NOT about changing who you truly are, it IS about changing what YOU want to change about yourself. I am saying that you shouldn't attach yourself to a concept that limits yourself, if you WANT to change.

I honestly don't think being picky is a big deal. All because I like something more than something else doesn't mean that I'm 'stopping my adaptability'. I just enjoy one thing over another. It's not a bad thing, and people don't exactly have a 'role' in the community anyway. We're all one massive community, not unadaptable groups.

This is post doesn't have anything to do with personal prefrence, if someone likes something and enjoys that game type, good for you but if you state you are a role in a community it restricts you in what you think you can do c:
Thanks for your response, it's greatly appreciated!

Ok, so your point seems to be that people need to try different things (correct me if I am wrong), but I see nothing wrong with liking only one thing. I personally like peaceful building, preferably in creative mode, but I also love a good raid now and then. It is possible to be someone who enjoys many different things, but it is not exactly true to say that people are misleading themselves by only liking one type of hamburger...

Imagine, I have this one awesome game that I love love love. I play it aaallll daaayyy. It is my fav game. I never touch any other games. Then one day a friend of mine gets me a new game for my birthday, but I find it veeeery boring, and just not my type of thing, so naturally I go back to playing my original game that I fanboy over. The same applies to factions/pvp and towny/peaceful-survival. People have differing tastes, there is nothing wrong with liking only one thing, and that does not make you less of a person.

Tl;dr, I think it is fine to like one certain hamburger, if that hamburger with extra cheese makes you happy, good on ya. (But I will always take the hamburger with extra bacon >:D)

What the point of this Blog was to say is that you shouldn't categorise yourself. I never stated it would never make you less of a person!

As it says on the bottom this is really not about what you prefer but more about what you actually really like compared to what you are currently doing. playing one game type like 'Hunger Games' and people who label themselfs 'Hardcore PvPers' Restrict themselfs in actually saying that, thats all. I mean do you see a person who loves and states 'I buy Hamburgers everytime I go to McDonalds' go ahead and buy everything else on the menu besides a Hamburger? :P

Its understandable that people have diffrent prefrences but saying you dislike something or giving yourself that title can make you act diffrently.
I hope that answered your question, Thanks for the feedback
