Chapter 1:

This is my personal story and you have the right to read it. As of now, barely anybody knows who I am. I wish to change that. I will update this blog with my ideas and plans as time progresses. Currently I am a fan of many people on Youtube but the group I just love is the guys on the MindCrack. Like many others I would love to be on the server but I don't have anything do I don't expect to get on. But, I would however, like to get my name known to them all.
This is crazy talk Saul, how could you do such a thing? That idea has went through my head many times and I think I found a solution. Come up with an original idea for a map and make it. So far I have been making this enhanced PvP type I think everybody will enjoy and I hope the guys on the MindCrack will take a look and maybe even play it's beta.
But, for the MindCrack guys to even take a look at it. It needs 2 things. It needs to look good. I can't have a map looking like no time and effort was spend making it. It has to look anywhere from minor to great. I have to make a build at their level and maybe even above. This will be extremely challenging since they are great. Especially Zisteau in particular because his Lens blows my mind. Some of them may be impossible to outdo ARKAS! But it must be achieved and I don't believe they have to look like Arkas's work.
But there is one more thing I must think of when building it to look great. I have to think that I am in creative mode and they aren't. So I have to also put a little bit of a limit. This limit will be pure vanilla. So I won't be using fancy wands or a paint program to make the world. I will only use what Notch has given me access to (excluding McEdit) because that will only be used at the end on the finished work. For what reason, I can't give but when I use this, it can be considered a finished product.
Now for number two. On top of making it look good. It has to be original. A normal PvP map that everybody has played isn't going to work. What is being pretty going to do if it doesn't do something abnormal and amazing. Now I don't have to do something mind blowing that will be remembered forever. But if I enhance something to be better, then maybe I can get something good.
But, If I enhance something, it has to be different. If you use a picture to redraw another picture, you change allot and not a small amount. Cause people will know you just copied the other person. I don't have to go that far though. In fact, changing it the small to medium amount is what I need. I need people to know it's still the same type of map but with a different balancing and rule set. Also, I can't mimic the maps so it has a "new" but "familiar" feel to it.
So here are my steps to making this PvP map great. Make it look good and attempt to be better then the people on the Mindcrack, make it original as possible, enhance the way the game works, make a new "Map" type, and don't copy to much but small amounts is good to keep it "familiar" but "new".
So now I am making my map and I think it is coming along great. I am planning on many great features and maybe some funny ones. I will update my thoughts soon so until then, thank you for reading! Soon, let's get our name out there!
