Why Hungergames

I dont understand why the hungergames is so popular, I have read the books and watched the film. They are all great.
But why is it so popular in MINECRAFT! Also it is quite annoying just seeing loads of hunger games servers on PMC. Anyway if you know why, comment, like, diamond and subscribe!!!!

I think its just the extremely competitive aspect of the servers that people enjoy, and its a fairly new experience.
