Overview

Track Death Location is a multiplayer compatible datapack that upon death prints your death location. The message can only be seen by you, and can be customized easily. The pack is fully compatible with all versions between 1.13 and 1.16, and has easy-to-use updater and uninstaller utilities built in.

Info

The pack is rather lightweight with only one background entity check per tick. It installs a few scoreboards to track it's things, but the uninstaller utility takes care of it all. Unfortunately because the way Minecraft is coded it doesn't work with the doImmediateRespawn gamerule; to make it compatible It'd have to keep track of all the players coordinates every tick which could cause some issues on larger servers.

Customization

The message sent can be customized by editing the file bellow. In the file comments will explain which parts you need to touch.
\data\zt-tdc\functions\conf\death_message.mcfunction

Install, update and uninstall

After installing the datapack you should get a confirmation message in chat when you first open/reload your world. If you install a newer version of the pack you will also get a message reassuring that the pack has updated successfully. If you wish to remove the datapack, run the command bellow before deleting the file from the datapacks folder.
function zt-tdc:.remove
